Huge disappointment in Second Generation Genetics - Einstein’s Pipe… nanners galore

hard to see but almost looks like a Nanner and a Ball right next to it??
id ballpark 50% of the tops I flip over to check their undercarriage have a nanner hiding under the budlets right at the joint. 2 plants and both are doing the same.
Veg’d for 6 weeks, topped twice, had a week of no-touch between the second topping and flip.
Running in an rdwc with a bluelab gaurdian monitoring ph and EC 24/7 and they’ve both stayed on-point to the extent that EC levels are practically dead-steady for all 7 days between res changes (not rising or falling very much over a 7 day period so she’s not over or under fed). Lives under an HLG blackbird that’s 18-20” above the tops

anything is possible but I really don’t think these are stress induced as much as from the genetics.

im really disappointed, I had high hopes for a goji og / blueberry cross coming from a breeder with a family history like JD Short

I’ve not run it myself, but have heard from an old head friend (RIP) that the original blueberry does have a tendency to herm.
ugh
The irony here is that I thought the family connection to the original blueberry used for the cross made the more appealing for its legitimacy.

maybe I would’ve had better luck with a Dutch passion fauxberry cross

They might still be worth running exclusively, to avoid pollinating your other stuff, and just making them into hash. They’re frosty, and they still took effort, time, and $ to get this far.

edit : sometimes some phenos in a pack will herm but the others won’t. My 2 current keepers did that. One of their siblings each hermed, but the others stayed true. Search the whole pack before you toss em. You might still get lucky.

you’re looking at week7 from flip, maybe 5-6 weeks of actual flowering

well, ya, that sucks. i was able to take mine down day 62 and get some decent bud.

btw, i still have 3 goji og reg left of my 5 pack i got from a NM dispo ages ago. i am willing to pass those on to someone that would make something out it. Of the ones i ran, 1 was a good yielder with lower potency and the other was frosty with less yield. both smelled as they should. the higher potency one was more sativa dom, but both were sativa dom. i didn't finish the flower myself, had some issues in the home had to relocate to my bros house to finish. he might have pics...if i do, they are buried in a some hard drive somewhere.

that’s very generous of you, thanks
But I’ve got a few other cultivars on deck I’m looking forward to and after this experience I’m going to want a break from anything blueberry or goji just in case
My personal stash couldn’t sustain two consecutive seeded runs

This is very common, I had the same issue with the same plant, spoke with second gen and he wasn't surprised, he explained it was passed down from his fathers bb which is known for it. He mentioned if I kept a cut he would be shocked if that also popped nanners.. I flowered the cut I took next and no nanners, totally different terp profile also.

Also mine did not show balls just some nanners.

Also just to add, no pollen seemed to drop

Little off topic but its the only thread with this breeder

I did a grow of SouthPaw Kush thinking it was a resin dumpster from the pics on instagram...New breeder to me that spews political news in his feed....

7 males/3 females with 3 seedlings left

All the females were 'crap' no resin purple blueberry garbage, I had no idea this was blueberry lineage, my fault..... Southpaw/Cocoa Kush doesnt sound like blueberry

Im ready to cull 2 females as the rosin will probably suck......

Extremely dissapointed and will never be back......Should have paid me to run this garbage....

Such a waste of my time...rant rant rant....I feel better now, time to hack that garbage down and reclaim some soil

Aye they did that heard some argue a long veg helps lessen it a bit but I not totally convinced yeah the real old DJ short/dp blueberry line had mutants and herm issues the plants that didn't were belters though in my experience

try farmers fire and look for the "dark" smelling pheno, perfumed bleach bitter nuts and rich kush scents on the stem rub should be easy to find, the rest were a mix of this extreme on a spectrum going all the way to volatile berry scents

One of my southpaw kush turned into a very decent blueberry pheno so it wasnt a complete bust..3 seedlings left anyhow and I did cull another big female for being crap....
