Once all the white female hairs turn amberish/red thats when you should harvest
if you wait too long they will turn black and turn into shit

Do you wait for ALL of the hairs to turn red, or just about 70% or so ? I've heard varying opinions on when to harvest..
I prefer the more "cerebral" experience..which from what I've read is gained by harvesting slightly early....maybe someone more experienced can shed some more light on this

When the lights are turned back to 12/12 to induce flowering, the plant enters its final stage of life. It hurries to produce flowers and sticky resin so pollen will attach itself so the female can make seeds. After seeds are made, the plant dies. You can harvest the plant, leaving a little green, then turn the lights back to 18/6 to revegg and start all over again with the same plant. Go to Radio Shack and buy one of their 30x scopes. Use the scope to look at the tricomes. If you like an up high, harvest when 25-50% of the tricomes are cloudy. For more of a combo head high, body stone, harvest when most are cloudy.

depends on the strain.. if its a 7 week strain, then you crop after 8 weeks (flower till week 7, then flush on week 8 8)

If you have a pair of binoculars you can turn them around and use them to look at your tricomes as well. Also you can judge the color of tricomes based off of the hairs. If the hairs are 70 to 90% red then your tricomes more than likly will be amber, so yes you can JUDGE (not as accurate as a magnifiying glass) the plants based off of the hairs. I have looked at tricomes with a magnifiying glass and have found that on avarage if your hairs are 70% red your tricomes will be 60% amber 40% cloudy, now at 90% the tricomes are 75% amber. This is with my grow and everyone on here will say something different but just use your best judgment as your judgment will be better than someone elses based on a pic!!!!!
