wattage for clone setup

i have an old blurple light with 80w of blue.
will this work for an aero cloner (clone king) in a 1.5x3x3 tent?
I could put the light at one end of the tent and keep the cloner at other end.
do i need less light?

the blurple does keep the tent about 82f, but i can get an temp controlled exhaust if needed. i usually use this setup for seed starting and seedling stage and it works well. i can even veg in their after transplanting as the plants get a lot closer to the light....which will be similar to whatever i put into the cloner height-wise. i guess this was my concern, but was hoping just offsetting the light from the cloner would get me to a low light intensity. is there par or lux reference i should be looking for?

I don’t really get into the technical stuff as far as checking par or lux, but I would think if you hang the light at the top of the tent you should be ok. How tall is the tent?

3ft tall (1.5x3x3). it's for seedlings. it is wide enough to push the light to one end. i have another tent that is open, a 4ft (2x2x4), but that is my dry tent. i can use the 3ft for dry instead if i have to.

80 watts at 3ft away should be sweet to start them off.
That's very little light.
Is it one of those lights with a blue spectrum switch and red spectrum switch?

ya, sorry it's actually 90w for each, blue and red (total 180, can't do math today). i just turn on the blue for 90w. it veg's nice. i love the way the plants look after they have been under that.

If it happens to be too much light.. let’s say you start seeing the leaves try to flip over.. you could always use cheap cfl bulbs 6000-6500k. I use them to hatch my seedlings. 9A0A96DF-5DE2-4FB3-B16E-FCE9E8258569.jpeg2ED976D0-F79A-4824-91DA-B4EC51435654.jpeg

... vipar spectra vs450. you've probably seen a few over the years ...
Yup ... know the Viparspectra's pretty well:

These were their V600's - the next light above the 450's - and for cloning, they will work if you keep them at least 36" above.

But to be honest - I stopped using them for cloning cause those fans running constantly used more power than the single 23W Cool White CFL's that I use now.

so, it seems most of those lights have an odd fixture. i have the typical light fixtures most have for bed room lighting.
clearance will be limited.

would this work instead?

I use the 18w LED sticks from LUXX for cuttings and clones in very early stage, then upgrade to stronger lights once they're rooted and ready to grow. The 80w blurple will be plenty of light for clones.

80 won't be too much? It will be about 16 to 20 inches from the light.t
