New Lighting Products/Tech? I'm Out Of The Loop. Fill Me In.

Hey everyone.

I've only ever grown with HLG as far as LED goes. I'd like to hear what else is out there now that is quality, and with possibly different, newer, or "better" features (like spectrum, coverage, tuning, output, etc.). DIY with strips, fully built fixtures, whatever. I'm curious to know what else is out now, especially stuff with very full/broad spectrum.

Thanks for any insight.

But migro was reviewing a new light recently with fancy Nancy 4 channel blah blah and sunrise nonsense setting if that kind of thing floats your boat
I guess I'm more interested in more full spectrum, and more even coverage, which might mean bar style/strips style. Something that'd throw an even ppfd blanket down on the canopy; very little variance in the ppfd across the whole canopy. @MidnightSun72 Style, except I'd also consider something prebuilt.

Maybe it really is the more full spectrum I'm after the most. What lights/brands or leds are offering that? I don't care too much about being able to manipulate 4 or 8 channels, but I'd like a full, sun like spectrum. I'm after quality. I think UV of some sort would be nice, but probably not built into the light fixture (in other words, that'd be something additional maybe).

hlg scorpion diablo has a uv bar that can attach directly to your fixture if you only want to run the uv bar during flower just make sure your flip box has room to accomodate 2 plugs per fixture for when your in flower

You can run the UV bar and light off the same plug. I didn't, but I believe you can. I'll look tonight.

I'm kind of looking for HLG alternative, as I'm very familiar with HLG's products, and I have quite a bit of it. I really like HLG stuff, and their company, but I'm wondering what else there is.
@DoubleAtotheRON, you mentioned (quite a while ago) in a thread somewhere that "this is the light I'd consider for my next purchase" and I can't remember the brand, nor the fixture. But I think it was a multi bar style (like narrow bars with leds going down them, almost like a PLC green genes form factor) and had some interesting spectrum options - or at least various models with different spectrums maybe.

What's the difference between these two hlg fixtures:
1) https://horticulturelightinggroup.ca/collections/reflector-series/products/hlg-scorpion-diablo
2) https://horticulturelightinggroup.ca/collections/reflector-series/products/hlg-scorpion-diablo-x

I see a very small difference in PPF (a meaningless difference), but also a different ratio of Red:Green:Blue.

Edit: Oh, the relative level of red on the "X" model is...significantly higher. Right? Sounds like, according to Migro review, new diodes, and maybe even a different amount of them - slightly.

Kinda pricey on the Dimlux... but I can vouch for GrowerChoice. Great light for the money, great customer service. I have been using 2 ROI 420's in my 4x8 personal tent for a while now.

Ok, I've just been checking out a couple things on growerschoice site. I remember years and years ago browsing their site and it seemed like shipping to canada was just a really...clunky experience at best - it was weird even trying to see if it was an option at all. Now it looks like maybe they have a better situation (with shipping and all that). I duno.

Thanks man

2 of them work great in a 4x8… what size tent you running?
Just checking them out, and scanning the lab report. 420w each, getting good ppfd numbers? Even numbers?

Well, I'm thinking about a 4x6 ish area, but it's not a tent, and would have a wall on one long side and one short side (with panda or some reflectivity). But could just pretend it's for an 8x4 area.
