I wanted a skunk or a fox for the longest. Ended up with a macaw, lol.
I had to give him away because my mom was allergic, broke my heart. Hardest pet I have ever raised, and maybe the sweetest by the end. I taught him a few choice swears, and he was poop trained like a dog. The adopter got lucky...
*Whispers hello repeatedly while sneaking down the hall like a little raptor to say hello in the middle of the night after breaking out of the cage*

Dogs are like eating pie after that fucker. Nearly lost my fingers. Untamed pets are scary o_O

Mom got one for Dad for their 50th, that damn thing lived another 20 years & hated everybody except Dad.
When they passed my brother took him to live in S Fla & same thing - he would attack everyone except bro & then that changed.
He re-homed with family friends that specialized in that & once introduced to other parrots & Macaws, settled down & is still kicking I hear.
I had serious thoughts about stuffed Parrot with a nice white wine for the longest time.

God, frustrating little monsters, right? I got to the other side and managed to socialize him, but it took some scary looking bruises and bites. I was more purple than black for about a year and a half... But honestly when they love you it's the sweetest. Lemme see if I can find a cuddle picture with him.
