Found components, need to build a new light (or two)

I've built 3 lights but that was around 5-6 years ago. I then packed up all of my extra components until my wife recently asked me to build another.

Can someone walk me through the build process with the following components:

BXEB-L0560Z-50E2000-C-B3 x 6
BXEB-L0560Z-30E2000-C-B3 x 4
BXEB-L0560Z-35E2000-C-B3 x 20

I have a Meanwell HLG-185H-54A driver.

If I need to purchase a new driver I can. Ideally I'd use this to create a slimmer seed starting light and one bigger growing light. Footprint for the smaller light should be 32" x 15.5" (similar to my other lights), probably using 10-12 strips. The other 18-20 could go in the bigger light.

Is anyone feeling generous enough to help me map this out with an efficient use of my materials?

Here you go - DIY LED designs

You could use the 6 x 5000K strips for the veg light and the other 24 strips for the bigger light. Conveniently for you the guides include plans for a 120W 6-strip and a 480W 24-strip design using the strips you have , but you'd need to buy new drivers if you wanted to follow the plans exactly.

How many watts are you looking for, what size flowering area? With pairs of the strips in series, I think you'd get around 135 watts from the HLG-185H-54A.

I was thinking that driver would probably work just fine for the seedling area OP described in the first post. The driver would be running a lot less efficient dimmed down even further for the seedlings, but seems like an option even though it may not be ideal.

Anyone have any thoughts on mixing the spectrums on the same driver? I feel like I always read that it isn't advised but never remember whether it was a safe thing to do or not.

For example:

Using four of the 3k and four of the 5k strips wired 2S4P. I was thinking maybe one 3k/5k per series to kind of even out the Fv difference (if there is a variance between the two).

This will help you.

I'm running the same 3500k strips in this light I built

Here is the light I built.

I used the HLG 185h 20b but switched to a HLG 320h 20b for the 16 BXEB-L0560Z-35E2000-C-B3 as I wanted more power.

You will need a 20v power supply

Those strips max out at 1400ma and at 20v the max wattage would be 28w per strip. I run mine at 20w per strip when at max power
I used this to calculate the max wattage.

(32 inches) x 15.5 inches = 3.44444444 square feet
For the seedling light I would only use the BXEB-L0560Z-50E2000-C-B3 x 6
Now depending how much light you want to use.
I would go with a HLG-80H-20B or the a version that will give you 23.5 w per square foot for your seedling light. Seems like I could only find it in stock at https://www.mouser.ca/

For you bigger light
24 strips at 20w is 480w
You want to use two HLG 240h 20b to power 12 strips each

Yes you can mix the strips up I did it in the first gen of those strips

For the aluminum I used this
It was on sale for $20 when i used it.

I keep my power supplies outside my tent. Keeps the heat down.

What one of my lights look like and what they can do. The BXEB-L0560Z-35E2000-C-B3 are the ones with the led closer together. This was a light put together with old parts too.
