Flowering 4 Ladies in a 2.5x2.5 Tent under a 2’ 8 bulb Light.

Will Stoner Mike Be able to Pull 250 Grams dry out of the 2.5x2.5 tent?!

Hello fellow green thumbed friends!
Soooo…

I’m running a hydrofarm Envirogro 192W T5 fixture and 4, 15W LED grow bars inside of a 32" x 32” x 66” (or 2.5ft x 2.5ft x 5.5ft) grow area, here is my rough estimate of the total PPE and PPFD data (I think/hope)
  • PPE:
    T5 fixture: 1.8 umol/J (from earlier calculation)
    LED grow lights:a PPE of (roughly) 2.0 umol/J for the LED grow lights, the total PPE for all the lights would be:
    4 x 15W x 2.0 umol/J = 120 umol/J
    Total PPE = PPE from T5 fixture + PPE from LED grow lights
    Total PPE = 1.8 + 120 = 121.8 umol/J
  • PPFD:
    T5 fixture: Assuming a distance of 6inches from the canopy, the PPFD should be approximately 1183 umol/m²s.
  • LED grow lights: Assuming a distance of 6 inches from the canopy, and a light spread of approximately 1.5 ft x 1.5 ft per LED light, the PPFD for all the LED lights would be:
    4 x 15W x 1.5 ft² x 2.0 umol/J/= 540 umol/m²s

  • Total PPFD = PPFD from T5 fixture + PPFD from LED grow lights
    Total PPFD = 1183 + 540 = 1723 umol/m²s

  • I know my math might be off a tad bit so if anyone who might be a little better at figuring these types of things out than me see this and wouldn’t mind helping me out I’d absolutely appreciate it!
  • Anywho, the reason I bring this up is because well lately it seems like everyone and their mother is growing with LEDs and I was trying to figure out if my T5 with my Flowering bulbs and some supplemental LEDs would be sufficient enough to produce some decent product!?

you know, in my 35yrs of growing. ive never once weighed my grow. spent more time on getting it right and keeping the girls healthy.
i would recomend some you get some of those led cob lights, the super white ones. loads of lumins in 50 to 100 watt cobs

thats a uk price n site, but you should ionvest in some proper T5's and it will pay off

hey brother I completely feel ya on that one!! I normally never do either unless say I have to split up my harvest between 3 people and wanna make sure nobody is getting shorted but like normally to just weigh it for the sake of weighing it no not really…

however this whole thing had Come about cuz one of my green thumbed friends was dickin around with me and was making fun of my set ups (I have 3 small tents) cuz he has a whole nice size room with 6, Dual Ended phantom HPS. As to where I have 2, 2’ 8 bulb T5s & 2,1000w Phantom HPS systems.
Unfortunately I think the tents I have are slightly to small to run my HPS and one day we were talking about possible ways to go about flowering…seeing how I didn’t want to shell out 350$ on the LED light I have my eye on…anywho I told him I had some flower bulbs for my T5 and was going to buy some better ones and some additional supplemental LED light strips from AC Infinity & Ipower and how with that It would be more than enough to flower 3-5 ladies in the tent…the friend was laughing his ass off tellin me how ridiculous that sounded specially since it’s not like I don’t have the money to get a new led or get a dimmable 600w hps with dual arc bulbs or this or that, to which I responded that well, I don’t really feel like buying new lights when I can just buy good flowering bulbs for my T5s…regardless of what I said he wasn’t having it and made me a friendly bet (with a decent little wager involved) that I couldn’t Even a pull 224 grams out of there with t5s regardless of what bulbs I use or how many plants I run…so now I plan on winning me a new light and some cash ;)


anywho sorry about rambling on but ya just wanted to lay the context of the challenge out there

actually no their not…how can u say my bulbs are shit For plants when u have no idea what spectrum bulbs I’m even running??!! (I’m using 6500k AgroMax LED bulbs for cool white light, 2700k warm white light & 633nm Eye Hortilux Powerveg Flowering bulbs) their literally the best T5 bulbs on the market lol

the bulbs I have are much better quality than Those…and I am using the exact same spectrum as the ones ur showing me so I don’t understand what ur trying to get at?!

that was just an example, i didnt think the coloured ones were giving off that much light, but i dont do coloured bulbs, i grow and flower under MH. ive just baught a duel mh/hps flowering bulb to see what there like.
if there proper grow bulbs, good on ya, they just looked weak in amount of light given off, never seen coloured grow lights b4, my bad lol

for sure man I understand no worries sorry if I kind of came off a little defensive.Was not my intention. Idk if u have checked em out or not or if u know this company but Eye Hortilux makes a really good prope Dual Arc bulb! (It’s actually just a 600w hps and 400w mh in one! That’s what I currently have in my thousand watt hps that I’m not using and let me just tell u their fucking bad ass

hey broski thanks for voting! I’m really throwing the kitchen sink at it lol. If I pull 10 zips I’ll be happy!! Oh btw the ladies are 2 Mendo Purps phenos, 1 CookiesxChem#4 and one I’ve just been referring to as the Mail Man’s Daughter lol it’s actually a bag seed but honestly I’ve grown some fire with bag seeds before: seeds a seed sometimes u get a cup winner, sometimes u get the snicklefritz lol
