Dispos here have decent enough bud, but it’s to gd expensive, especially for medical. I’m smoking on some cherry Ak right now and it’s fire but $50 for 1/4oz of smalls is more than I care to pay

You can just go to Rez and buy it. Next thing you'll know they'll be selling them from boat houses on the river that could easily serve US customers. You already can drive up to the boat docks run up and grab a bag and get away with it. Yes I'm talking about US boaters coming in for a snack when the pot shop is a 20 second walk from the boat dock. 5 CAD for a gram compared to over 10 USD I am surprised they ain't got a drive through for the boats.

Years ago no forget that, decades ago I worked on a tugboat on the Mississippi. There were boat stores that would drive out to the tugs and you could get cigarettes and sundry items. One of those boat stores around Memphis which shall remain nameless would bring you out some pot if you wanted.

Would you send out smoke singles for how many grams you wanted since cell phones weren’t invented yet?
Skiff would come out to the tug and take orders and deliver them a little further up or down stream. Or they might just have a nickle or a dime on board just in case someone wanted one. Bottom line you could get pretty much anything you wanted. Some boats were more strict than others, it depended on the Mates. One boat I was on one of the deckhands brought a pound on board. I wonder what the captain thought when half the crew took out 10 dollar draws from their pay.

I just prefer to grow my own, for the same reason I like to grow my own produce. I know what went into it, and I am the quality control inspector. You’ve never tasted a truly ripe tomato or peach unless you’ve picked it straight from the plant, and the same thing applies to cannabis.

The Walmart weed I’ve had was mostly disappointing- no flavor, little odor, crispy and overly dry, no trichomes (it’s almost always been tumbled), and the high sucks. It’s also way overpriced, plus I have no way of knowing what kind of stuff it has been sprayed with.

I like STICKY weed that will knock your socks off and scorch your eyebrows and nose hairs when you crack open the lid- and Walmart weed ain’t it.

You really cant beat your own if it is well taken care of.
That said, the regulations legal growers face dont allow for strange stuff being sprayed, mold etc. Non dispensary stuff has far more potential for pathogens and chemicals etc.
Ive never used wallmart as a source, but most dispensary stuff around here is pretty potent and frosty, but like you said overdried, overtrimmed

I imagine dispensary bud will get better over time. Right now they are either just trying to keep it on the shelf or trying to figure out with to do with an over abundance. Eventually their market will stabilize and consistent quality will be easier to achieve.

That too but if push comes to shove.
Last really good dispensary stuff i had was texas shoreline. Really wish that cut was something i could find around here
Some of the best weed I've grow was the Niagara Seed Bank. It's all in the seed and the cure really. I doubt dispensary weed will get better until the government stops regulating the sales of it. I mean at least we should be able to see the product before it's bought. And have it weighed in front of us. Geeze the government always has been a terrible dealer.

Sounds like you have never checked your finger scale with a nickle.
Not sure why i ever bothered with the amount of seed in the brick.

I don't think I've ever owned a scale in my life, I'm not a seller. I don't purchase often enough to care.
I was never a seller either.
But at one time weighing with a finger scale was normal business to make sure you werent getting screwed.
A non ziplock baggy weighs about 1 g. A nickle 5gs.
The weight of the sellers saliva on the non ziplock weight was variable :)

You had to have one to keep your buddies from pinching from the bag before you got it. I'd love to find one of my old ones and see just how off it really was. Can you imagine getting a licked sandwich bag today, in the era of Covid?
