Possible phosphorus and calcium deficiency

So im newish to growing and my plants have been struggling. I was told it was bugs so i looked for days on end never found a bug or a web or anything. I treated for mites turns out i highly doubt that I had any to begin with. That being said I think it might be phosphorus and a calcium deficiency or just maybe phosphorus?

Im growing in a soil i got locally, its supposed to have all the nutrients i would need already in the soil. Being a newbie and wanting to grow organic i listend to the guy at my local hydroponic store and got this locally sourced "easy grow soil" (easygrowsoil.com) the bags got no label to tell me whats in the soil. i asked the guy in a email and he said it was "peat base with worm castings and other organic meals
from sea and land" that dosen't really tell me shit as far as im concerned.

Anyway so my plants have a deficiency or 2, and im trying to figure out what to do. I ph my water @ 6.4- 6.5, so idk if my ph is an issue, i doubt that. A guy on the forum sent me info on phosphorus deficiency and it seems like that could be it. Maybe calcium also I guess.
So last grow i used the same soil im using now and it worked good, untill all the nutrients were gone. One of the idiots at the store never told me that I would have to add more nutrients. Just "this will get you from start to finish". So when the soil was cashed I got gaia green dry amendments and they worked good once the nutrients were available to the plant in the soil.

So should I top dress wth the gaia green 4-4-4, or will that burn my plants? I think some of my leaves are geting a little burnt now. Is there another nutrient i should add instead?

This shit is so confusing and discouraging


So if anyone can help me with what to do id be greatful i took some pics of the leaves on the worst planet effected out of the 4. One of them barely has any spots

Take pics of the whole plants. What are your temps near or at canopy level. Using tap water? When do you water? What's the relative humidity (rh)?

When there's a deficiency and you're not using ro or distilled water and the rest of the plant is green, it can be ph prob or can be the plant not transpiring properly. At 6.4/6.5 it shouldn't be ph though.

With pics and more info somebody should be able to help you. Again, temperature?

Looks like nutrient burn from lockout. With slow releasing organic amendments and sub par watering practices the medium will get hotter as it's drying out to much between waterings..

Stop pHing your inputs when running organic amendments. It's impossible to know the pH of the medium throughout the water/feed and dryout cycle runnings organics meaning you're just pHing without knowing how the buffer affect the medium, "shooting in the dark" practice I call it.

You feed the living soil which feeds the plants in organics. pHing is totally pointless since the microbial life and organic acids will decide the pH of the medium.

My temp is around 75-77 degrees during the day and about 68-69 when the light is off. My RH% is at 55%, stays rather steady there when the lights on. My tent is hooked up to an automatic system from ac infinity, the humidifier goes on when it drops below 55%. It has gone higher when the lights off, the highest was 63% once when it was raining outside.

Also idk if some of you know but i haven't added any gaia green or any other food. The soil is supposed to have everything it will need...but it seems like that's not the case. And i really don't understand why wastei is saying not to ph my water?
My watering schedule so far has been once or twice a week when the plants need it. I have thies self watering cloth pot trays from ac infinity. I used them on my last grow (my second) and they were great for the most part, never over water or under water. Problem with them is, you have to wait for the roots to grow down to the bottom of the plant

Correction- the only nutrients I have added is recharge once a week

Growing in organic soil the microbes control the ph.

Maybe I'm crazy but these don't look that bad at all. It looks like early on you had some issue which was intravenous in nature (between the veins). The damage seems to be in the same spot on two of the plants. The one does have what looks like some nutrient burn on the top leaves, but the new growth all looks good from what I'm seeing so I wouldn't start making tons of modifications when it looks like at worst you have some nutrient burn one 1/4 of your plants. You can always trim away those damaged leaves at the bottom so it will be obvious if the issue spreads or not. I think the biggest takeaway even though I don't precisely what it is would be based on what we do know which is

1. Most of the issues appear to be at the bottom of the plant.
2. The damage is happening between the veins of the leaves.

Also I wouldn't rely on that little therm on your tent floor. I have dozens of those for my grow jars and they definitely have some margin of error on RH of around 2-3%.

Water stress… what don’t know is how old that damage is. It looks like multiple droughts have occurred.

How much water, how often? And how big is the pot?

Yea I'm not relying on the little hygrometer on the floor, my grow tent has a really good controller with an accurate hygrometer bilt in

It's not temperature. Soil or watering practices is my guess. What's your water like and what are you adding? I'd cut out the Recharge for now too. That's not a great sign that there's no label on the bag of soil. Soil is my main thought.

Another bad sign. Their website doesn't work. Sounds like some stoners put some dirt in a bag with some dry amendments and sold it to you. They had this stuff in a hydro store? Are they the ones who make it? I'm not a fan of not telling us what's in it.

Doesn't sound too cold to me. I don't claim to be some great grower, but that does look like a cal-mag def. Perhaps some epsom salt (I'd go 1/2 tsp per gallon to start, should do the trick.)and worm castings tea . Like I said, I'm not getting a bunch of weight from my plants, I just clone more and have a bunch of plants. My plants look healthy. I see temperatures from 61°-73° lately. I don't heat and the only air movement I get for my girls, is when I take them outside to save on lightricity during peak cost. I'm just trying to get them to survive long enough to give some clones to friends for summer and fall, and flower my ladies outside.
I do ph my water and feeds to the 6.1 to 6.3 ballpark. I run some Recharge and Myco a couple of weeks in the soil before I pot up. This is just to get them through veg. I use green gaia bloom for flowering. Seems to work pretty well. Here's a pic of my momz tent. They will bulk up before the end of May. At least they did last year. I'll take my next years momz and flower them outside. At the beginning of fall, I'll get next years clones off the momz of the performers and give away my excess plants to friends again.

There's no such thing as Cal-Mag deficiency. They are actually antagonist to each other. Also Epsom salt has no Ca, just Mg and S. And just so you know it's not a great idea to bring them in and out like that. That's asking for bugs.

They are antagonistic, only if there is a large excess of one over the other. In proper proportions they are not antagonistic.

Basically i keep the pots filled and they handle the watering from the bottom. Then once a week I pour in some recharge on top. Every 30 days I top dress wth gaia green 4-4-4 and or 2-8-4 depending on what stage the plants are in

Turns out no bugs, probably just bad watering since when the trays started working the problem went away. Im a rookie at best with growing, for some reason I suck at watering cannabis.

So you top dressed with the 4-4-4? I thought you said you hadn't fed it. It looks like it's a little locked out or something from overfeeding or hot soil burning them. Is that one that has the issue drier than the other pots?

Looks more overfed than locked out. Just let it sit for a couple watering cycles without nutes, I’ll bet it straightens itself out. Then go back to feeding at half strength and see how it does. If it handles it, then increase.
