Calcium or magnesium deficiancy? But why?

Hi all,

Those plants are 30 days from seed.

The soil is "empty" - no added nutrition. I added Perlite + vermiculite + some hummus (less than 5%).
I gave them advance nutrition grow a+b and cal mag since second week, almost every watering.
In the beginning , half of the recommendation, then more as they grow up.

I don't understand why this time I have deficiencies so early?
Can it be that the nutrition (especially calmag) is out of date?
Its from last year cycle but has been in a good place, not in heat..

Really don't get it..

All the other parameters are fine
Humidity 70%+-
Temperature 26-7c
Tap water
No over watering
Ventilation is good

Thanks for any help

What do you mean by "soil"? Is it peat based or what is it? You need a buffer with peat since it's naturally really acidic. Lime is traditionally used. I buffer between runs with "Calimagic", adding calcium and magnesium back to the medium.

I double buffer in coir and peat. Usually Running mother's in peat and coir in flower if I run containers. This is probably your problem, low pH because you don't have any buffer to raise it.

The soil is from the hydro shop, its perfect for weed grow. It has no slow nutrition release like regular soil for planets for max control.
The soil itself already buffered, its peat based with some coco fibers, perlite and vermiculite.
I added some vermiculite (10%) and hummus (5%) like always.

I had few successful cycles with it without any issues....

Is it possible that my nutritious are out of date?
And BTW what deficiency do you think it is?

Thanks

Took me about a month during winter to realize I needed fish tank heaters because the 45 degree water was no bueno.

Perfect for growing weed huh? Doesn't seem like it. If you feed the plant food on top of already amended soil it's a recipe for disaster. More input is not better, just enough is. Try giving the plant what it's asking for instead of trying to force feed it. Do you reuse that soil every run or is it new out of the bag?

I think you have to read up about different nutrient amendments and salts, how they work and how they should be used? Your pH is way off because you're throwing the "kitchen sink" at the plants and expect good results.

Cal-mag doesn't really expire if it is kept cool. Looks like PH problem. Nitrogen is not getting to the leaves either. I would flush next watering and test the runoff and document to see trends. Adjust PH slowly each watering, to get the runoff to be closer to where you want.

Water temp and ph? Could be lockout.
Looks like lock out from wacked ph.
Water temp around 23-24
They have been transplant 5 days ago btw

Tap water PH around 7.6- 7.8 and usually the nutritions reduce it to 6.5 - 6.8.
Usually in our area soil growers don't need to adjust PH of tap water

I will check ph next time

So from what I read, lockout is too much?
so I need to flush them?

But its not look like a lockout from what I read

A so-called perfect soil for growing weed does not need to be fed almost every watering.
This is a good example of how not to grow using soil.
Switch to coco, coco loves to be fed every day.
Its an empty soil, no nutrition.
Its perfect if you want to control your feeding, what you add is what you got.

The soil is not the issue here, as I used it successfully before, few times

Its an empty soil just for that, with zero nutrients
Best for controlling your feed

And its new soil, I never use the same soil twice (I grow 3-4 plants only so its not an issue to replace)

I use the same soil the same tent the same nutrients as all previous grows

I must be doing something else wrong

Is this a different strain this run? How much are you feeding? Almost wonder if your feeding them too much, I ran a different strain this run and had to dilute my nutes half strength to get them happy again.

So most of you think its a ph issue

So I guess if so many ppl say its an ph issue, its probably a ph issue.. causeI didn't adjust it, never had to..

So flushing?
Any good guide how to deal with the problem?

I just need to remind that I have transplant them 5 days ago, from 1 liter to 7 liter, with mycorrhizae, and fed them after transplanting.
They had some minor signs but not like this

Same strain on the 2 left pots, 2 new strains on the 2 right pots. Indeed the new ones are with more symptoms

This is so confusing cause I have deficiency as a result of too much nutrition.
I really don't think I over fed, I gave half the recommended amount

https://dutch-passion.com/en/blog/a-visual-guide-to-cannabis-deficiencies-n987 This chart shows what deficiencies and excess look like for each element. You can have a deficiency or excess which can sometimes give similar signs.

Whats your EC or ppm of your nutrient mix?

I keep telling you that you have a problem with the buffer of the medium in your case soil. It's either not buffered or "cooked" long enough hence it's not capable of proper ion exchange and as a result not keeping pH stable.

You could raise pH of your feed. But it's even better to add carbonates and or silicates to combat your low pH problems for the long run.

I believe humidity is a much bigger deal than we realize. To high RH and the plant takes what it needs from the air vs its root system. That would lead to a nute deficiency for sure.
I suggest getting your RH down to the mid 50s and see if that helps.

Ok, I understand what you are saying, but how is that possible as this is buffered soil and its fresh and I used it for good grows...
PH is 6.0

You mean add it now to the soil? Can I do it now in this stage?
I have one more transplant to do - move them for a final 11 liter pots
