Somany ways of doing it somany methods somany reasons
ive scrogged for 16 years and still perfecting it

top node 5
lst and train from baby’s like the mainline tek spread them out then top I sort out 6 main arms and strip the lower ones when it get foot tall as otherwise you struggle to water under the screen you need to clear the bottom arms off under node 5 top

I added the screen this time as they was giant overthrew waiting for room

normally I’ll use small mesh grids to squash em n train them and keep main screen at 35cm above pot top always

when thy reach tuck em like fuck

now strain dependant but I’ve taken lately to filling screen before flip as if I try train in stretch like they say I can’t fill screen with these tight genetics

train in the stretch for a sativa only , hybrids and indica fill screen in veg n let them grow through

check YouTube for scrog school it’s really good episode 12 is a good one

Definitely a mainline it’s how I start a sccrog tho from there I would top them and wait 2 node top again and same again then you are bushy

Give em hell! Lots of pinching & weaving.
Whatever size your squares are let your tops grow 3” taller than that length before bending to the next square. Use plant ties to pin the plant down to the net if needed.
Assuming when zip tie-ing i should take caution with how tight? At what point do you stop topping?

That was the plan man. Was going to alternate the topping tho. Next is the two lower alternates tomorrow, then I was going to hit the two mains in a few days.

I never topped this plant. I didn’t use zip ties, but I would only tighten til the branch was where I wanted it.
This is the newest pic 2 weeks later
Oh. Wow ok, so you essentially super crop it. Some of those photos where you have the splits. They recovered?

I just put the net 8” above the pot from the start and let them grow into it. Just do whatever you need (tuck, weave, zip tie) to keep them under the net until they are almost done with the stretch. Using a tight net saves a fair bit of ziptie action. Just keep pulling them over a square but they tend to stay in place easier with a tight net

Cheers! First run in this one so still working the kinks out. I prefer the low scrog since you end up growing big plants just to hack half of them off with a higher net. With a low scrog most of the small bottom stuff ends up turning into decent mains and don’t need a 2nd trellis most of the time. This is a good guide https://www.growweedeasy.com/scrog-tutorial
I’m ready for that second layer. 3AF74EE2-0918-4DE3-BDA4-7697574DDEFE.jpeg

Nice. Is your system a kit or did you piece it together? Im aiming for a lower-ish scrog. I want to still be able to get in there for waterings. Considering running a drip system, we'll see.
When are you flipping?

I just built it myself. Flipped 2 weeks ago so should be action time kicking off now. If you do the same style with eye hooks and string, get a socket that fits the hooks. Then rig it up to your power drill to screw them in. Way easier and saved the sore fingers

Ok cool. For the trellis I picked up a two pack from the smiley box people. Figured Id try that at first.
As for the eye hook tip, very good idea. In the past I just let the little but of chuck sticking out of the drill to grab the hook. I like yours better tho.
