Ya the ABV. Already Been Vaped. It's still usable for edibles and some stuff too. But I was curious about the color, and if there is any black or dark brown areas. If it doesn't combust it should be a tannish green color. If you see black it means combustion.

I agree on waiting a bit longer. The second pic looks the closest (assuming they're from different plants), first and third look about a week or two behind that one

Nah I wouldn’t feed. Won’t be long. Could just be a couple days. May only have 1 watering left in em. They are pretty close. I shoot for more amber personally. Sometimes I go til there’s 20-30% amber. That banana kush I ran for 12 weeks was a knockout artist.

Personally I think the whole amber trichs = couch lock thing is a bit overplayed, probably by folks who have never tested it themselves.
Last year I grew a plant that I've grown from clone a few times and normally harvest around 12-13 weeks, only this time I let it go for over 20. It had tons of amber trichs, but no more couch lock effect than normal. A bit less smelly and potent than when harvested at the "peak", maybe more mellow effect overall, but definitely didn't put me to sleep or anything.
My thinking is that the longer you leave a plant to ripen, the more you'll experience the true nature of that strain...if it's an indica or indica-dominant hybrid, that may be couch lock or sleepiness, but you're not going to turn a speedy sativa into a sleepy indica just by leaving it to ripen longer.

How quickly do clear trichomes turn cloudy? I mean can it be an overnight process? I'm at day 78 & still see a lot of clear + a few Amber's. Just don't see that many cloudy.
Is there anything I can do to speed the process like switch to 11 on 13 off?
Turn mY led light up higher, like more ppfd?
Does too little light lead to clear trichomes & not finishing?

Your plants look great to me, and i would harvest any time i pleased at this point.
People have grown pot for centuries without worrying about the number of cloudy trichs vs clear or even amber.
Some plants will throw new pistils forever, and you arent going to see any major differences in potency or weight waiting any longer.

I don't think it happens overnight. I researched that topic a lot on my first couple grows and didn't get a straightforward answer, maybe because it's hard to track the progress of a single trichome while it's still on the plant...
Reducing lights on hours will speed up maturation, but it's like knocking off one or two weeks by going 11/13 for all of flower. If you're already 11 weeks deep then it might be too late to make a difference. Not sure of anything that would speed it up noticeably at this point.
The biggest thing that will slow them down is not being in good health. Healthy plants finish faster for sure, unhealthy plants can take forever to ripen or may not finish properly at all. Not that that applies in your case.
If it helps, I do feel like somewhere in the 11-13 weeks range is when most modern hybrids are "good and ripe." I think most folks who cut at 8 or 9 weeks don't know what they're missing...

Yea I'm at 11 weeks & they definitely aren't healthy. All the sugar leaves are so crispy on one plant that they break into pieces when touched. Starting to wonder if another week may not make a difference.

Yeah if the leaves are breaking off around the buds I'd consider chopping as well, at least the tops. The bottoms look much more green, which seems to happen with intense LED lights, tops getting fried while the bottoms are still happy. Either way, looking pretty frosty all around, excellent work!
Granted I'm speaking from pretty limited experience, but even if I came across a plant that seemed done at 8 weeks, as long as it was healthy I think I'd still let it go another 2 just to see what happens...
Not all trichomes go cloudy or amber, pure sativa's can be ready with perfectly clear trichomes. You are at 11 weeks so you could have some time to go then again all pistils don't always completely retract and we grow in imperfect environments which can make maturation take longer.
I'd take an upper bud, quick dry it in the oven and smoke it for high profile if I'm really wondering. It will taste terrible and be horribly harsh but I'm only looking at the high profile. If you like it chop, if you don't wait a little longer test another bud.
The only way to know is to smoke her.
NB: I use loupes on a living plant and use a microscope (higher magnification on buds I cut off)

You only need a fingernail clipping sized sample. Snip a couple and take them to the table and chair. You really won't miss that tiny fragment.

I don't. Overall structure and swollen and fully developed calyxes are better markers. You may see ripe trichomes two months before harvest and I see people harvest to early at that time all over this forum.
I would suggest forget about using microscope before you understand fully how the plant grows, matures and develop its flower clusters.
Not even close to be done, got a long way to go! Hope you can keep them alive long enough for them to swell.

225-250 ish for about an hour. I make certain I have a remote temp probe in there and watch it for overage. I have also tossed it in my Volcano. It also was harsh and terrible tasting but the high was racier and more cerebral when I used the Volcano alone. I prefer joints so oven to joint for the test is the one I chopped by. Now I can mostly tell by looking but that took me awhile to get there, when I have questions I still test. It takes awhile to grow these right I don't want to screw up by not waiting another week or so.
