Those are CDN dollars, much cheaper in gringo dollars, for Americans, we have a special price!

I dunno how these prices compare with street prices, he says it is pure and uncut. I don't like his approach though and figure the government should be selling addictive drugs to addicts, non-addictive ones are another matter. Prices should be much cheaper for opioids and treatment options offered, the younger the more frequent the offers, old addicts are left alone.

they’re black market prices. If he could legitimately buy kilos from Merck a gram would be $5, with 90% of that being regulatory overhead.

Not bad at all for uncut stuff. Not like I'm planning on starting new habits. The only reason I haven't scored coke or H on my trips to BC the last decade is fear of getting one of those hot-shots kids drop dead from. My #2 son is a junky and could get me all the fentanyl I want but no thanks.

Everything on the street out there is laced with fentanyl and those doing the mixing don't have pharmaceutical degrees.

Until it becomes legal then with the taxes added on it'll be double street prices and will have to be cut before you get it.

Cigs would be a buck a pack if it wasn't for all the taxes and now they're just shy of a buck a butt. $3 for a pack of Player's/Zig-Zag rolling papers here now FFS.

At least he's trying to help supply clean dope. Something our gov'ts should have been doing all along. Not stores like we have now for pot or booze but get registered as an addict and get a cheap/free supply with lots of help available for those that decide they're sick and tired of always being sick and tired.

He'll be shut down soon enough but like pot shops in the early days I bet more will pop up.

This, apparently is an actual letter received by the Canadian Passport Office, from an irate Newfoundlander attempting to renew his passport.

Dear Sirs,
I'm in the process of renewing my passport, and still cannot believe this. How is it that Bell-Alliant has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a friggin satellite dish from them back in 1977, and yet, the Canadian Government is still asking me where I was friggin born and on what date.

For Christ sakes, do you guys do this by hand? My birth date you have on my pension checks, and it is on all the income tax forms I've filed for the past 30 years. It is on my Health card, my driving license, my car insurance, on the last eight damn passports I've had, on all those stupid customs declaration forms I've had to fill out before being allowed off the plane over the last 30 years, and all those insufferable census forms.
Would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother's name is Mary Anne, my father's name is Robert and I'd be astounded if that ever changed between now and when I die!!!!!!

I apologise, I'm really pissed off this morning. Between you an' me, I've had enough of this bullshit! You send the application to my house, then you ask me for my bloody address!!!!

What is going on? Look at my damn picture. Do I look like Bin Laden? I don't want to dig up Yasser Arafat, for shit sakes. I just want to go and park my arse on some sandy beach somewhere. And would someone please tell me, why would you give a shit whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next 15 days? If I ever got the urge to do something weird to a chicken or a goat, believe you me, you'd be the last people I'd want to tell!

Well, I have to go now, 'cause I have to go to the other end of the friggin city to get another copy of my birth certificate, to the tune of $35. Would it be so complicated to have all the services in the same spot to assist in the issuance of a new passport the same day??

Nooooooooooooo, that'd be too damn easy and maybe make sense. You'd rather have us running all over the place like chickens with our heads cut off, then have to find some someone to confirm that it's really me on the damn picture - you know, the one where we're not allowed to smile. Hey, do you know why we couldn't smile if we wanted to? Because we're totally pissed off!

P.S. Remember what I said above about the picture and getting someone to confirm that it's me? Well, my family has been in Newfoundland since 1497 and I've been a Canadian Citizen since 1949. I have served in the military for something over 30 years and have had full security clearances over 25 of those years enabling me to undertake highly secretive missions all over the world. However, I have to get someone 'important' to verify who I am - you know, someone like my doctor - WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN PAKISTAN.
 
Nero fiddles while Alberta burns. Smoke show around here today with over 100 wildfires mostly in the northern half of the province. Nothing too close to us but all it takes is an asshole driving by to toss a butt out the window and we'd be in trouble. Lot of fuel in the woods around our place and my yard is half covered in 4 or 5 years of uncut grass due to all the flooding in past years. No flood this year and up until now I was damn happy about that but now wish the ground was still soggy and to hell with the mosquitos that brings. We only mow about a half acre around the front of the house and a bit of the backyard. Was hoping to burn all the old grass off but if I even burned some waste paper in my barrel they'd waterbomb my house then haul me off to jail.

High winds and no rain in the forecast for another week at least. Where's a damn atmospheric river when you need one!
