Hell yeah that's about the size tubs I'm moving onto. I just bought some 58 quart tubs. With the bigger tubs I'll be making my substrate a little higher at about 4 in also. Man I can't wait to see some wall to wall pins in one of those. Instead of drilling the huge holes I'm going to drill a bunch of small holes and put micropore tape over them, this way I can play with the air exchange by plugging and unplugging holes with the season changes. Seems like they get a lot bigger in the big tubs also. I've seen some PE and Melmac the size of my head.

I just mixed my spawn in the monotub the day before yesterday and I think it's contaminated already...fuck

Mycelium is white as well. Hard to see your pics clearly, but especially the first one looks like mycelium to my untrained eye.

If it's snow white, check it every two hours. Trich will begin to turn green in 8 to 12 hours. Chuck it if it has the least green. The color is like a bullseye, it starts from dead center and expands in a growing circle.

That looks like myc to me but it is blurry.

3 days is insanely fast you either had a freak culture or used a ton of spawn. 7-10 seems to be average.

4-7 days is average for me. I use 30% grain to 70% substrate.

I personally haven't had any that size but have definitely seen some pics. I'm just getting into the larger tubs now but have some Melmac and some rusty White X Melmac going in 56 quart tubs so hopefully soon I have some giant Boomer pics of my own

Can’t find the picture of the traffic cone size Melmak, but finally got my hands on the culture that produced these two after quite a while of trying. It’s from somebody who crossed a huge PE clone with a large PESA clone.
