First use a good soil like fox farms Ocean Forest. Bring your ph of water down to below 7. In spite of all the hoopla, try not to spend a fortune on this gizmo, that doodad and all the like. Also, especially if you are growing anything with a whiff of sativa try to do without "nutes". It is an expensive way to kill your plants. If you see deficiencies that is one thing but to dump a bunch of stuff that "grows bigger buds" is to kill your plants.

Mr Grow It is the first that comes to mind. This is probably the most decently informed channel while also keeping content simple, and videos short but concise.

Home Grow TV is a fantastic, well-polished channel that's very fun to watch. He's in Colombia, so it's interesting to see how another part of the World accesses their genetics, equipment etc. (I mean, he's sponsored now so it's probably easy, but whatever. Still a fun watch)

I still love watching Mr Canucks Grow, I don't care about all the hate he gets thrown. Also a well polished channel, but basically don't do most of what he does, lol!

I used to like Mr GoodBuds but HOLY FUCKING SHIT his camera work gives me seizures. get a tripod, dawg, damn.

I used to like Bill Ward's channel, but most of what he grows now is larfy crispy autos. He uses cool equipment though, the big turntable and his scrog webb. Still worth a skim.

Vader OG and Chad Westport also post awesome content, not necessarily "for beginners" but still good content to watch to brush yourself up on info you'll run into down the line, so to speak.

I learned most everything from youtube videos. I watched a lot of cannabis specific channels, as well as a ton of regular vegetable type gardening videos. I used coco coir for my first grow, but I still watched videos about organics, DWC, rockwool, ect ect. I read a lot too, but information is information. Forums give a lot of bad advice, just like youtube, just like books.

I would say watch / read everything you can, and never fall into the trap of a guru. Everyone grows differently, and everyone practices a little bit of bro science in one form or another. Cross reference everything and go with what you feel is best for you. Once you have a general understanding of growing and an idea of what type of setup you want to go with, (medium type mainly) come to the forum and ask specific questions.

He actually answered a question of mine on his channel. Same here, been taking tons of notes in hopes of making the switch to organic someday, in the meantime I'm implementing some of his tips out in the garden with decent success and progression.

That's awesome! I was really looking forward to yard work this year, but I'm working long hours far from home, and knowing how the universe works, I will be until early summer...

I want to jump in the deep end, but me and my partner are going to make it a team project, which will hopefully keep me from making any wild purchases.

I want to start with a DIY SiP and some form of home made soil, but I also want to buy all the stuff build a soil sells lmao
