Hello, I was thinking of adding a UV-A light to my setup but I was wondering if that was likely to start decaying other plastics in the room? Or at 30w, is that it to low power to effect things metres away?

I completed a grow with little over 100 watts of UV LED's from HLG in a 5 by 5 area.
Smoke was strongest I have ever tried, smell was increadible vers prior grow without.
Watch your skin/eyes,.
those LED UV are real deal will f you up so always shut off if lights are on and yourin tent or whatever you grow in just have it off

FYI I have UV Solo's on during veg plus 4000 k really improved grow but do it slow throw entire grow then at end full time.
The pot will be so strong you will never grow any other way.
Plants are bit smaller so you hav eto veg longer but make no mistake UV through entire grow is key to outdoor taste with indoor strength weed.
UV Suppliment Lighting
You might want to make sure everyone knows that that is supposed to be 3' / 3foot, not 3". :D I have a question regarding this type of supplemental lighting. If one has to hang, say, a UV fixture 3' above the canopy, and the main lighting is obviously below that height - between the canopy...

Thanks. Its about 5x5 (feet). But its not in a tent. Its a bit hard to gauge results atm because I have spider mites ruining everything.

Those are pure uva no uvb so if I was you I would have those lights on when your Grow lights are on. When you turn off grow lights turn the uv off

I would disregard this advice. Do some research on hot shot pest strips..Get hot shots no pest strips they kill everything and the plants love it.

Yes I agree you should read about dichlorvos vapour thoroughly as then you would know if used properly its not harmful. Its half life is 12 hours and it has no killing power in the same area once the vapour has dispersed after 24 hours, so that means no surface residue in the area that is harmful.

Always wear eye protection. I will put on my method 7 to go near the lights. I avoid them when they are "on" period. Not worth it.
I have Hortilux ES, Kind led with UV and hlg with uv bars that are 3'. I was using hortilux cmh with uv prior to the switch to led.
I try to keep things out of the direct light if possible. Nasty shit...
