I can hear the mugs shattering, the toes bruising.... Tangos zoomies are low to the ground. They get you in the shins, it's scary

Regent Park - what a lovely part of town. So glad you made it out in one piece.

I drove for Beck Taxi for a little over 1 year in the late 70's ( those green and orange colour schemed cabs ... ) and would have to pick up fares from places in that area and usually around 10:00 AM. Places in Regent Park, the Oak Street apartments, Moss Park Apartments, Blevins Place ... all of those wonderfully kept dwellings between Parliament St. east to River St. from Gerrard St. down to Queen St.

That's not far from my previous place of employment on the 12th floor of Simcoe Place. And there were plenty of sirens during the day.

So - is there a constant traffic hum from University Ave or are you far enough from that din that it doesn't bother you?

Regent park wasn't too bad aside from the shootings. I got to meet some interesting characters. The last six months I was living at my partners before we made it official. I'm a little further east of university so traffic isn't too bad. If we sit out on the patio you hear a constant hum of traffic. I'm used to it lol and only really notice when we have guests from the burbs and they point it out.

You're seeing fewer and fewer orange/green cabs. Uber has taken over. Unless you're grabbing a ride at the airport. Uber isn't allowed to pick up there. >:(

You're a good addition to B&D. @FirstCavApache64 too.

Correct - cabs/Uber/Lyft are not allowed to pick up at Pearson ARRIVALS and airport limo's can't troll the city streets. They each have agreed to not impinge on the other's turf. One of the first things the Metro License Commission tells you when you get your cab license.

Wow ... what a nice way to start the afternoon. I truly wasn't expecting that - thank you very much @Laughing Grass. I hope I am also a good addition to the other RIU boards/forums.

Now if only I could actually retire so that I can start B'ing & D'ing during the day. I guess I am too conscientious to get high while still on the clock, as it were.
