I thought I'd post my comparison of HPS bulbs.
I'm posting in Newbie Central because I'm guessing most of us(noobs) aren't aware of this.
I got the numbers from Sunkraft and Lumatek bulbs.
400W - 53500 Lumens
600W - 90000 Lumens
1000W - 130000 Lumens
So going from 400W to 600W you get a 68% increase in Lumens, while it's only a 50% increase in power-consumption.
Going from 600W to 1000W you get a 44% increase in Lumens, while it's a 66% increase in power-consumption.
And finally, going from 400W to 1000W you get a 143% increase in Lumens, while it's a 150% increase in power-consumption.
So it seems to me you get the most bang for your buck at 600W.
My point is if you are on a 400W like me, upgrading to 600W is a big deal at 68% increase in Lumens(and yield?).
I ordered my 600W bulb today.
Hope this is useful to someone.
