Life is full of surprises. Seems like some divine intervention landed me this interview today. Plus my persistence helped as well, but the oddest meeting with someone at work took place just hours before the interview. It was alarmingly coincidental that I just happened to start a conversation with this person and ask them where they lived and it was the place I was interviewing at. I nailed the interview. Now they want to fly me out. It’s going to be a very very long plane ride.

Sorry to hear about your dog . That’s heartbreaking.

Thanks, yeah, i still think about her regularly... she had a bad owner before me, and a very hard life, and didn't deserve that kind of exit. That's how it is out there though... it's still the wild west in a lot of ways.

Yes, dogs and children. Most adults know not to mess with them. If you dont mess with them your chances are slim...

Yup, that's why I said something... people who live among them need to respect the fact that they can kill... and sometimes it's hard to know they are even there until you are right on top of them. I have no phobia of snakes, but rattlesnakes make my stomach drop like almost nothing else. Still a part of nature though, and they more than likely don't want to attack if they don't need to... just gotta be careful!

Yeah , we will see. It just might be. He told me they would teach me how to fish and catch my own salmon. I LOVE love love salmon. I could eat it everyday for the rest of my life . He said they need some art for their walls. He said that I would fit in perfectly. This place been on my radar for a long time and this particular position is pretty sweet. No weekends , no call. I was shocked they would fly me out. It’s almost too good to believe. Is this really happening? Pretty exciting.

Thanks! There is a lot of action out there right now. Saw some foxes the other day. Very interesting flowers everywhere. It’s hard to keep track. I would love to see a tarantula soon.

Seem strange at the time but I guess it’s just a small world .

Not to discredit anyone, but rattlesnakes are not to be taken lightly at all. Humans can avoid them fairly easily, but if you have dogs, be very careful. I grew up a little south of you, DAT, and my one dog was bitten by a big rattlesnake... she didn't even see it before it struck, no warning or anything, and let me say, it was a horrible death for her. You don't have to be afraid of them, but don't think they are nothing to worry about, or it can end bad... especially for 4 legged friends... even if they survive, it's bad... really bad. Another thing, bullsnakes are all over in the SW too, and they make a similar sound... easy way to tell the difference fast, is the eyes... they just have black, friendly looking circles, whereas the rattlers have the pissed off slits... honestly the whole shape and coloration is different, but if you don't know what you are looking at, the eyes don't lie.

Lost a young collie to an adder in England, believe it or not.
Unfortunately we were miles from any vet and by the time we got there it was too late.
Horrible to see him start coughing and shutting down. RIP little Apache!!
I live in Australia now, and have only seen 4 snakes in 11 years!!

Australia! Wow. That’s exotic!
We have deer here that jump like kangaroos! I have seen them jump over 10 feet over fences. Kangaroos and koalas take it to a whole mother level of amazing . Isn’t the most venomous snake in the world in Australia. I saw the YouTube video. Bad ass mate.

I reckon deer eat better than kangaroo though haha!
I always thought it was the black mamba that was the most venomous, could be wrong…

More importantly, it’s a fantastic thread you got going on here, makes me want to get out the old oil paints again.

Yes! That would be so fantastic to Get out the paints again . Show some of your stuff here. I have been in a creative slump . But moving my drawing desk under my Hendrix shrine might be a good move.

Black Canyon National Park Colorado.
so Trippy. Looking down and around made me dizzy. When clouds would roll over, the dimensions would reveal depth and create new patterns. It is almost too much to take in. What a great place to be a bird. The canyon went on forever. You can drive for miles and pull out at viewing sites for different views to see up and down the winding canyon.

If I could get a hold of these horseshoe shells I would make a huge wall mural with their shells and make it an environmental awareness piece.

Today was a beautiful one. The elevation continues to kick my ass. Eating is not a good idea while climbing. I keep learning how to cope. This place has 14 plus feet of snow in the winter time.

Colorado is beautiful. Got to do the million dollar hwy into Silverton and it was the best day ever!
I truely felt like I was a part of the mountains. Not just an observer but devoured.
