They don't dilate? That's strange. I absolute hate having it done though....I don't have rx sunglasses either, just the kind that darken in sun, but they have the disposable ones you can slip over your regular glasses. I usually grab. They might do it now if you are over 60. Not sure why they have been doing mine for years, as I am 61. That was how they spotted my AMD.

Coming up on 5 years over 60, never had it done. They do the puff of air thing and scan my retina's. I have the beginnings of a cataract in my left eye.

They work fine for me unless I just had my eyes dilated and I walked out into the sunny summer which happens once a year at most. Sometimes it's a bit annoying the reverse, going INSIDE, but only if you're going into a super dimly lit area. The convenience of not having a second pair to buy or lose is great. And my eyes are definitely less tired after a day outside.
