The Trump trials, by that I mean trying Trump and all the scumbag MAGA GOP leaders in Congress who tried to overthrow the 2020 election, are not going to save the US from MAGA fascism in 2024. Rescuing US democracy from MAGA fascism in 2024 will be up to the voters, Democratic Party candidates and the media. I think we are up to the challenge.

But that won't end the threat posed by MAGA GOP fascism. Building strong cases and driving them to successful verdicts in court will put an end to it for good. Smith is up against a clock to complete those trials but not the election clock. The statute of limitations triggers 5 years after the crime is committed. For most crimes committed on or leading up to the Jan 6 attempted coup, the statute of limitations is late 2025/early 2026 The Trump trials are going to consume every minute of that time.

So, the job in 2024 for US Independent and Democratic Party voters is to stay united as we have been in 2018 - 2022 and vote Democrats into Congress and the WH. That will save our democracy in 2024. Successful conclusion of the Trump Trials will finish the Trump/MAGA threat for good. I think we can finally say that light we see at the end of the tunnel is daylight and not a train coming our way.

Winning at the poles is what counts for real change and Trump should help with that by being an agent of division, if he is not silenced by jail and prison. Even then he will probably run in 24 as a bull moose and it would be even better if he had his own endorsed independent candidates. The republicans are already in the process of throwing Trump under the bus, and they are just waiting for the results of Jack's indictments to do the dirty work. Will Donald make bail? If so what conditions? When does his trial begin, his guilt is assured. How free will he be to demand fealty from the republicans? What will his base do? They are the republican party or half of it these days.

They will all then do same. It happens every time with people like this and it’s sad how cult like support they will even with their stupidity know they are sheep and supporting very bad things.


it’s not if trump will lose, it’s when and those kiss asses will kick trump off the cliff if they know the rest of the gop is willing to. cowards and also sheep. Shoot at the rate trump is acting and evidence against him they are also just waiting it out and don’t have to say shit.

The $5 million awarded to a columnist by a jury that concluded she was sexually abused in the 1990s by Donald Trump in a New York luxury department store should be reduced to less than $1 million, the former president's lawyers told a judge Thursday, saying the award was grossly excessive and based on “pure speculation.”

The lawyers noted in a written submission that a Manhattan federal court jury last month rejected a rape claim made by the writer, E. Jean Carroll, concluding instead that she had been sexually abused in spring 1996 in the store's dressing room.

“Such abuse could have included groping of Plaintiff's breasts through clothing, or similar conduct, which is a far cry from rape,” the lawyers wrote.

They said the $2 million granted by the jury on a sexual abuse claim was “grossly excessive” and another $2.7 million issued for compensatory defamation damages was "based upon pure speculation."

The award should consist of no more than $400,000 for sex abuse, no more than $100,000 for defamation and $368,000 or less for the cost of a campaign to repair Carroll's reputation, the lawyers wrote.

If a judge does not grant the suggested reduction in the award, then he should permit a new trial on damages, they said.

More charges for republicans?

MTG just proved why she cannot be trusted with classified information. Due to Kevin McCarthy foolishly putting her on Homeland Security committee. She was given access to a classified FBI document she was only supposed to read. Instead she bragged ”I took notes”. And as anticipated she ran out to the first camera she saw and gave away classified information that was never supposed to be released to the public. Whatever security clearance she has must be revoked immediately.And MTG must be prosecuted for leaking classified information. MTG does not respect the need for classified documents. She cannot just decide on her own what to release and what to keep secret. This is not the first time she has leaked classified information nor will it be the last unless she is stopped. MTG is a clear danger to the safety and security of the United States.I hope Jack Smith is paying attention to this traitor.
