What's the most people have put into butter I just did one run and I just strained it then added more bud and started again so I'm wondering how many times do you think you could do that I guess at a certain point thc will stop combining with the fats

This one time, i used alot. It was more than the time before it and the effects were way more potent than when i used less the last time.

I'd be kind of curious to know what the maximum amount of THC that can be absorbed into the butter is too. Adding more weed will make it stronger obviously, but up to what point?

Just to be clear I filtered the bud out and then did it again with new bud is that not good
No. The cooking time is the length it is to have the highest thc content, after that the curve starts heading downwards.
So you basically degraded the first batch while introducing the new.

Also Oil, or any solvent, has a point of saturation and will not dissolve any more. Many people do the opposite you are doing and run the filtered bud again because one run will usually not dissolve all the thc.

[/QUOTEi did 45 min for each so after so long does the thc start to separate from the butter then do you have any more info on this

Its not the cooking time that degrades thc, its the temperture over time. As long as the temperture is around 220°F you will be fine.

Time can be a factor at higher temps. The butter molecules insulates the thc so it would have to be heated more than 240°F for a long while to actually hurt the thc. That is why decarbing dry is better than decarbing in oil or butter.

I decarbed in a jar in the slow cooker first and I kept the heat down by keep removing pot and also didn't have it on full on the hob

lol, 13 posts and not one mentions a quantity, I run a 1/2oz of decarbed material (sometimes flower, sometimes pressed pucks, sometimes pax vape reclaim) in just a bit more than 1/2 cup of coconut oil, I grind before I decarb and I use soy lecithin in the oil, I then use that 1/2c of oil to make brownies

Do you think it would be stronger if you took the oil and ran a fresh batch of bud through it? I think that's what was being asked, not specific amounts, but how many times you can keep adding flower to your cannaoil until there is no additional strength from adding it.

I thought both were being asked. "What's the most people have put into butter" and "I just strained it then added more bud and started again so I'm wondering how many times do you think you could do that"

If someone makes a batch with 7grams and 1 cup of oil then strains, adds 7 grams and does it again all they did was waste their time imo.. also the most people have put into butter will vary depending on how much butter, what if I was making three pounds of butter, I will need more flower to infuse it, my post explains how much flower and oil I use for enough oil to make one box of store bought brownies (check the recipe requires 1/2c oil).

I was just trying to give people some numbers to work with otherwise it's not very specific/scientific or helpful for anyone

edit 1: I do not believe most people would notice an increase in strength if they strained my 1/2oz to 1/2c and ran more flower in the oil unless they are a heavy smoker/edible eater. That is another thing to consider, you may make the oil stronger but if it knocks people out already, adding more is irrelevant/wasteful imo

edit 2: last but not least, with how I make my oil, I basically run the same material twice in the oil. After I cook it with the oil I allow it to sit covered overnight before I reheat it and let it go another hour and then I strain (only if I am gifting it), for me I leave it all in the oil

Okay, so you think running it more than once through the process is probably not worth the time? I sometimes run mine twice using my nova, but not every time. I rarely use the same strains in the same amounts to test if I notice a difference. Maybe I'll try that. I was curious about this one!
