Where did the strains go?

I'd avoid 808. Search up the IC mag threads. He's been exposed probably 5 years ago. More than that, he's got terrible germination rates and customer service. Most breeders don't use his "crippy". Top Dawg, Clearwater, anyone I vend for has said it's a Florida cut, not from 808.

According to a friend who has lived and grown in Colombia for years, crippy has infested the cannabis population there. Some grow it deliberately. Why you would destroy great genetics with that crap is beyond me but then I agree (for once) with Kevin Jodfrey, all this hybrid on hybrid stuff produces "homogenious", in other words it all tastes and smokes the same.

I had some stuff back in 2008 ish in New Hampshire called Headies. It was so good, I could smoke that everyday and nothing else ever and Id be happy. I have tried the strains they sell as Headies in seedshops but nothing even came close. It was super skunky, earthy, and piney. Also had a strain in Maine called Burnham Red Eye, heard there is still original clones going around, I may have to look into it. That strain was just pure skunk, nothing else, not sweet, just pungent stanky skunk. Ill have to take a drive up to Burnham and see if I can gather some info on where to find it. :weed:

Headies was just the generic term for good weed AFAIK.

So I have been doing some research online, and it seems some people think it was just a Florida slang term for great cannabis. I disagree. This stuff had all the buds looking the same, it would make you break out in a sweat after taking a couple pulls. I remember my cousin at 16 freaking out wanting to go to the hospital, lol. His lil dog even got into his bag and kept barking for hours. I have a feeling it is being hoarded by certain people for personal smoke since I havnt seen it since probably 2010. But man oh man when I was about 16-20 this stuff was great. You either purchased mids or asked for crippy bud. The bag would last forever too because you could smoke the smallest amount and be done. the flavor was amazing. I use to press a bud on the wall and it would just stay there, lol
Also remember that the dealer may not have known exactly what it was either. He may be calling it 'Crippy' because it was the strong stuff he could get? It wasn't as common to know which strain you were getting back then, unless you were hanging out with the Grateful Dead older guys.

I've only used it once and it was with a guy that had a really great reputation here on the forum named Dookie. I just messaged him on Strainly and he messaged me back. I told him I was interested in some clones he had and we negotiated a price and shipping. There are a lot of people that have had problems over the years there though that's why it's so important to really check out who you're dealing with and try to find people here that have dealt with them.
i think the last i knew he moved to olkahoma

I have read crippy was also called 'krypto'. It might be possible it was the original Kryptonite from bay area club. I'm growing some now, about week 4 flower... also got mass super skunk going... so far so good..

We had a NYC Diesel cut over 20 years ago that we passed around. Some of my buddies changed the name to crippy and kept it around for probably 10 years. This was in the bay area, Ca.

From what i gather its more a catch all term for good bud just like kindbud headies or for a long time here in the uk skunk was the catch all term we used for good weed even if it wasnt actually skunk genetics think everywhere has its own version of this due to illegality and stuff its annoying cos it dont make whatever your seeking any easier to find

I dont think the columbian crippy is the same as the usa one rather its just the same name from what i can gather from folk I've spoken to/read online
