Got an email from strainly today that states that when a buyer requests something the seller has to pay a small fee before they can communicate with you.

"Please make sure to Accept any pending requests from buyers currently sitting in your inbox. You will be prompted to pay a small service fee. As soon as you do, you will be able to communicate with your buyer"
And you HAVE to pay in BTC. Nonsense, in my opinion.

I messaged Strainly because I couldn't respond to offers and was told to use the contact button. Then I got an email saying that we could do transactions "on the side" using the contact button but wouldn't be offered protection.
So I did transactions that way because my understanding was it was permitted. Got all my listings taken down for circumventing the system. I tried to follow the rules but got accused of gaming the system.
Sent people to that site for years and now I'm not allowed to communicate with my own customers.

Damn sorry to hear that bro! They are missing out! I would advise like the above post and make a discord server for yourself and customers. You have loyal customers that will follow

Charging an annual fee to post listings makes more sense. Let the listers assume all responsibility as far as how they get their money. The only sales "requirement" should be some token generated per sale to protect the customer and allow for a meaningful feedback system.

Strainly trying to take a cut via crypto will only drive sellers away. It's stupid.

I told him this and he said nobody pays for memberships. 7% is way too high, it should be like 3%.

Yeh, a subscription for sellers would make more sense. Listing fee maybe even better.

They could also charge a fee per transaction for those wanting to use their BTC system, but 7% is too high.
