The most telling trait of AG was the golden color and spicy taste (of course back in the 70's that could of been cut with orgegano!). I'm prety sure it was a combination of a light colored leaf and being dried, at least partially, in the sun, which bleached the leaves/buds.

I hope you get a male with any luck you can seed increase the line then cross em to a stinky ghani like balkhi for skunk hopefully the thing to watch out for is lots of these old sativa lines herm pretty easy and as others say the colour of the old ag gold or lumbo gold would be due to curing and harvesting practices as well as where and how they grew em good luck with em man

thats interesting, as the plants i used to grow from the seeds in my brick weed were yellow green, they also used to have very defined and raised lines/ribs around bud sites, very strong growth and strong smell.
ive herd that the old brick weed could have been AG, now im begining to think that it may well have been AG

Most plants that are known for yellow, brown or gold flowers are that way due to the method of cultivation and drying.

Sun dried flowers often turn those colors.

These strains grown indoors do not often seem to exhibit those colors.

What ive been told to look for " lumbo gold will turn so yellow before harvest if you dont know better you will think it is light burn"
Well old skunk 1 gets the golden leaf tips as if they a tad burned kinda if it was other crosses so i suspect it is the lumbo gold genes that contributes that trait i always did assume that the gold colour thing was down to how they harvested and grew the plants in columbia or mexico if its acapulco gold not just down to just genetics

#2 is getting tall for my tent, I will be adding a drainage table this week and will have to top afterwards. Found a damaged branch on #2 so took a low stalk cut off the others as well. Hope they root

why not keep one male outside for a while after sexing and as soon as the pollen sacks open cut it down and dry in a cardboard box away from grow

its easy males dont need a good light and tent setup
I do feel bad being disinclined to do a seed run.
I'm thinking I'll just let the clones go in my new tent before I move the next strain in. Won't let the lady's finish take them down once I see developed seed in them,(what kinda time would that take?) or cut a fresh clone off a male when the others go to flower keep it small in a Dixie cup and shove him in at week 4. Would this give me bud that had seeds but not be load bombs?

what im saying is stay with your current plan of removing males and finishing your girls off for smoke
just put a male in a shady spot outside in veg it will take 2 or 3 months to be ready,so forget about it just water it occasionally
then one day u will notice the yellow pollen on the leaves chop and store in a cardboard box with the bottom taped up

then you laughing just pollenate your best clone, later
