Read it.

The null hypothesis holds.
Every so often, a respected scientist runs off the rails. In my field, it was Nobel laureate Linus Pauling waxing effusive about the universal therapeutic effect of megadoses of vitamin C.

I’m also reminded of the Martian-origin meteorite ALH 84001, which contained tiny carbonate sausages that a David McKay insisted were fossils of nanobacteria, a hypothetical life form on a scale smaller than the tiniest known prokaryote.
I remember that Nature at the time had speculative articles in which the article of contention was spelled nannobacteria, a spelling favored by researcher Robert L. Folk.

The fossil hypothesis died a slow quiet death.

I went to a naturopath a few times in my late teens and he always game me a huge vitamin C shot. I found it gave me a slight energetic high for a short time. Is it known to do that? It didn't seem to help with the issue i was seeing them about.
