Hi everyone this is my saliva clone I am growing she is in a 30 gal smart pot still in veg with a few white pistols showing. As you can see she has an abundance of leaves and I was wondering if I should remove some and if yes which area should I take them from? Thanks for your help.

I would start picking 10-15 or so leaves a day and let the light penetrate the canopy better. Bigger leaves towards the top. Also thinning out the the center and bottom helps with air flow. Just dont go crazy. 5 minutes a day till your happy

Clean up the under neath down low so air can circulate and you can have easier access to water and top dress etc. Take the “suckers” off from the bottom third they more or less just waste energy. And then if any of the huge ones are blocking bud sites take them off if you like. Just a few here and there don’t go overboard

I would defoliate by taking off all the larger fan leaves that have a well established branch coming off it. I would do it all in one day as from the pics most of the leaf has to be left as it appears the nodal branching is barely starting. I wouldn't spread the defoliation over a period of days unless you know the plant can handle the prolonged stress. Defoliating for multiple days in a row can cause some strains to hermaphrodite.

You are outdoors, really little need to defoliate much at all. I wouldn't go nuts and stress the plant, maybe thin out the middle/inside part where little light gets, but the more leaves = the more 'solar panels' you have to fuel growth. I grow outdoors most summers and the only thing I've done is LST when they are small and just let them go. Never had any issues with too many leaves.

Besides it's almost flower/stretch time in most of the US, tops will stretch up and bud a little away from the rest of the plant.
