Hmm.....I'll add one more vote for a shit batch of Promix then.

I've run most of the big name peat mixes, Promix, Berger, Lambert, Sunshine and usually just dump about 1.2EC through them start to finish without any real issues.

Omce I get the medium back to normal it’s completely fine from there on out. It’s only when adding new stuff from the bail at transplants does it start to suffer. Almost thinking I need to pre-wet the medium for a few weeks, but then I’m loosing out on that beneficial mychorrizae already in the soil. Guess I could just grab some off Amazon, and use it at transplant time.

Why don't you try the KISS method !

I use ProMix HP in 5 gallon fabric bags straight from the bale, no amendments.

Feed at every watering with a wet/dry schedule.

My well water has a ppm of 500 and a ph of 7.5, I Do Not ph down. ProMix HP has enough limestone in it to buffer the ph.

I'm using Mega Crop one part or GH Maxi series. Both of those nutrient lines are buffered or chelated.

I've run AN ph perfect with three of their additives and Mega Crop gives me similar results without all the hassle And cost !

Pre wetting the medium will not be of any benefit....... but watering to run off two days before transplanting will.

It takes me a better part of a year to work through a bale so I sprinkle some Dynomyco mycorrhizal in my solo cups and in my prepared hole when transplanting, just in case.

I follow the recommended feed amounts from each nutrient companies web site (depending on the plants ask) but have found out the hard way with long flowering sativa's Not to go over 1000ppm.

Hope you get this figured out.

There is nothing easier than one medium and one dry nutrient with zero monitoring !

I’m only running my autos which are in a tent with organic amendments in the Promix. Working great.
The issues is using my AN Jungle Juice with my outdoor crops. It’s not a hard method as it’s the Lucas Method, tried tested and true. Don’t even use the grow, just micro, bloom, calmag and Carboload. It seems to be when I use new stuff from the bale that I have issues, but they happen so fast I barely have time to react. The first time I lost all but 1 clone when transplanting to new pots from the clone pots. Was good for about a week and then BOOM, massive issues! Check my soil and it’s sitting at 5 and below. Once I get the medium proper it’s fine from there. It’s just within a week or so of using new medium. Rounding it up to just a bad batch possibly, along with a couple minor mistakes.

I was at 1600ppm with my sativa, and she was loving. At 1100 she was growing slow, but as soon as i raised it, she starting growing. My mistake for going to 1800 and transplanting as she’s entering flowering!

What is your water source and ppm/ph ? Just curious, shouldn't matter...

I fed AN to an auto in a two gallon plastic pot with 1250 for four days in a row, looks good, fifth day major burn. Fast

Flushed and backed off to 900. Managed over 13 oz of Early Miss Auto.

Which Sativa are you running ? What's in the clone pots ?

My Wild Thailand did not like 6g/gallon of Mega Crop, about 950 ppm. My Golden Tiger wasn't quite as touchy but that was also too much.

Not sure how you are feeding at that level ?

You may want to consider a test with just the three main nutrients at 50% of their recommended amounts.

I always found their 4m/l ? was too much.

As for the strain, it is unknown. Mystery seed. And the feeding, I was giving her 1600ppm for the last 4 weeks, and that’s when she took off. No issues up until I transplanted into a 15G pot with new medium from the bale and pushed the ppm up 200. It’s always when I introduce new soil for a transplant that I’m seeing issues, but with the autos, I’m having zero issues with soil PH.
The clones were original blue cheese from Barney’s. Managed to save one, but now it’s dying fast with no change to its feeding and a fresh transplant.

I know it’s a 3 part, but I’m old school and use the “Lucas Method”. If you haven’t heard of it, check it out. Used this exact method on previous grows years back, but with GH nutes instead. Went AN this time.

Gaia AP and PB at the recommended rate of 3tbps per gallon for amending at a 70/30 ratio

I'm not familiar with your nutrients but I've found dry nutrients are pretty close to each other as per weight/gallon and 3 tbps/gallon is a massive amount. I have no idea how youngsters could handle that...

The clone is just over 2 months old now and in a 3g pot.

The autos are in Promix HP using Gaia Greens All Purpose 4-4-4 and Powerbloom 2-8-4. It’s a proven method introduced to me by Mr Canuck through his YouTube channel. Many Canadians are using it and it has made its way down to the US as well now with tremendous results of just using the AP and PB, but I will be using teas as well. I am making the full switch to organic, and will be making my own living soils from here on out. I’m getting away from salt nutes completely.

That was them a week ago. A few days after transplant. Don’t have good pics of the clone, but the bigger one is the mystery seed. As you can see she was loving the feeding until the transplant.

I should also state that the clone was only getting 8-900PPM. That was her happy spot.

I've used ProMix HP for around 15 years and used the old AN 3-part until that ran out then got the newer pH Perfect 3-part. Never once have to think about pH using it straight out of the bale and generally feeding smaller plants to full veg before flower at around 2ml/L of all 3.

The last 3 years or so I've been experimenting with organics in HP and am almost getting the hang of it tho may go back to the hydro nutes. To get good bio-herd action I'll water once with unfiltered water from my dugout, our tap water, tho filtered down to 5µ and use DynoMyco for the myco part. After that they get RO water as the tap is pH8+ and around 400ppm.

HP has lots of dolomitic and calcitic lime in it so it's totally bizarre that you're having your pH drop like that. I've never had something like that happen tho I don't bother checking pH. When I don't neglect my plants they do pretty well but when don't I neglect my plants.

He couldn’t speak for the medium as he never used it, but had never heard of this either. I did reach out to AN and they assured me my solutions were good, and my manufacturing dates were all in check, almost brand new. And once I get the soil back in check from flushing several times, it stays proper until I add new shit from the bale. I’m so baffled at this point as the Autos are doing just fine with the Gaia. Maybe I need to completely scrap the AN JJ and get some PH perfect to finish them off.

I think you need to use the AN JJ the way it is designed to be used, all three parts And less than their recommended amounts keeping the ppm's under 1000.

There is nothing wrong with ProMix HP.....

Works great for me. Feed/water at PH 6 to 7.5 it don't matter. I find it pretty neutral and well buffered. Great stuff.

There is nothing wrong with the routine. Its even a recommendation from AN themselves. It was designed for old school guys like me. If you’re not familiar with the routine, I suggest you check it out. If it was my routine my plants would have shown it long before transplant. It only happens when I introduce new medium from the bale, that within a week or so, my soil PH drops.

It was actually designed with the Lucas method in mind. Straight from Advanced Nutrients reps! It wasn’t the PPM also, since I was feeding her 1600 for a whole month with zero issues until the transplant.
