That pot is 2.5 gallons I believe.

I don't think I need 2 because the 1 will run like crazy if I let it. It will saturate the pot with no issue. I just need to find that sweet spot and I need to probably get a little bigger reservoir as this one is only 4 gallons.

ETA: That said, 2 carrots may be the answer. I'll have to try that at some point.
I know it's tough finding that sweet spot. I used Blumats a few times growing in soil, but more for protection when I went on vacation a couple of times.

I am liking my new auto watering setup, but it too has been a little tricky dialing in. I was using 3 different sized pots too as an experiment. Next run it will be all 2 gallon plastic pots, so should be easier to dial in, and use a lot less nutrients. I am going to improve or replace my halos for better saturation too.

Always something to improve....

That is why I got the blumats. I like the ability to go away for a short time and not worry too much. I also like not having to worry about power outages. We don't have many outages, but power will flicker on occasion and that can wreak havoc on timers or electrical stuff. But as i believe @Laughing Grass said about the blumats, they are "consistently inconsistent" Luckily, I enjoy tinkering while I'm here and my son can keep an eye on things if I'm gone. They did work as they were supposed to while I was in Michigan for 5 days last month. He just checked them daily and made sure there was nothing crazy going on.

For the environmental sustainability of the peat bogs. Additives like coir will help to reduce the amount of new peat that's vacuumed up from the peatlands on a yearly basis.
Peatlands aren't being destroyed by the demand for horticultural peat, rather they are being drained and converted wholesale to coconut and palm oil plantations, so all the coco that is on the market is derived from the massive destruction of peat bogs in Indonesia and Malaysia. I've also read that Canadian peat is being harvested in a fashion that preserves the associated wetlands and thus is relatively sustainable. So coco represents the destruction of distant environments to preserve local ones.

I had seen something as well, a few months ago, about a more sustainable method in the harvest process and in the moss regeneration process - although regenerating peat naturally can take 750 years and up.

Estimates are 115 - 120 million hectares of peat bogs in northern Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan and southern area of the Northwest Territories. 80% of all sphagnum peat comes from those Canadian peatlands and roughly .03% of the bogs are harvested per annum.

I like to think we were doing our part ...

went to a legit dispensary today and got a good cart. Twice as much money, but it's hopefully safer, and promotes the legal industry here in NY.

And I spoke too soon. Back is sooo sore today. I have iced it twice, and have a lidocaine gel patch on. I can't stand up straight. Taking it real easy but I do have to go mix nutes.

I'm just praying it's not an infection. I'll call the dr. tomorrow if still this sore. I didn't over do it that I can remember, and never had this reaction before.
