That's awesome.. fuck them flies.. and holy shit.. @auswolf that was one plant!? This thread is having me itching for a LAndrace grow. Some say it helps speed up the flowering time on the longer landrace sativa strains. I didn’t do 11/13 until late in my first Golden Tiger attempt, still 18.5w flowering but my jars are still sticky just over a year later. It’s truly the stickiest stuff I’ve grown so far, but might be surpassed by my pink Golden Tiger x Panama plant. It’s already killed a fly that got stuck in the sticky trichomes of one of my main colas. So she’s also been given the nickname of Venus Flytrap. I wish I had my camera on me but yanked the fly off and then back in to remove some legs that were still stuck to the cola
Its 80" so almost 7ft tall. I factor 10" pot height, 2" spacer under pot. Then 12 to 15" for light distance from canopy. Is they in a 6ft tent?
There's still plenty of time to weave it into storks nest type shape to limit it's height..... lol
A Malawi I weaved a while ago

Sativas usually grow near the equator where Day and night lengths are close to 12/12 most of the year in fall it goes 11hrs light 13 hrs dark. So that's why their flowering period is longer. So to mimic a Sativa Landraces natural light cycle to induce flower they recommend 11/13 instead of 12/12.IIve read conflicting information. I read some info a few weeks ago about this on Instagram, and while I cant all the specifics, the bottom line was they thought the evidence pointing towards 11/13 was more beneficial.
I believe this was for weed in general and not specifically sativas.
I miss rotating the plants. I scrogged my current grow and it bugs me that I can't turn the pots. Probably go back to bamboo sticks next growI've had a close call with a Blueberry Cheesecake from Femaleseeds.nl
She got 57" tall. I just rotated her every day 1/4 turn so the colas didn't get nuked. The got fat and sticky then started throwing nanners then I chopped her as she was ready anyways.
I usually rotate my plants 1/4 turn every time I water them which is usually 2 to 3 days. It seems to help make them even out.
Here's the Blueberry Cheesecake from last year.

I plant usually 4 plants, 4 strains. I stopped using SCROG when one of the back plants finished well before the other 3. I have very little space in this 1-room cabin. Tent shoehorned into the only space I could create. It was like having a dead body around and harvesting the buds just under the screen was a pain. Back to stakes and twisties.I miss rotating the plants. I scrogged my current grow and it bugs me that I can't turn the pots. Probably go back to bamboo sticks next grow
see my suggestion below. I take care of this problem after stretch and never loose a branch. key is after a day of water the are not too brittle and snap. wrong....try it. see my postAs to controlling sativas. I top 3 times in a row starting early. Shape by supercrop. Then don’t be vegging any 5 to 8 weeks. Flip at about 3 weeks and keep shaping while it’s possible. By the end of the second week of 12/12 stems are often to stiff and brittle to be snapping. But you might still be able to slow stretch by twisting stems. Still considered supercrop. Just a second method.
I probably asked already.. but .. Landrace Durban Poison.. is there such a thing? Asking because I grabbed some seeds of it (couple years ago from The Landrace Team) and then read an article after the effect that says....no such thing.. thoughts?
I maintain what is incorrectly called Durban Poison. It should actually be referred to as Rhodesian Poison as that’s where it originated. Seeds brought back by the late Heemie Cheba. Maintained since the 70’s as an IBL Line. The original Durban was from South Africa. It tended to hermie. The guy who was holding onto it turned it over to Dutch Passion for “stabilization”. I’ve never read the details of how that was accomplished but DP sells Durban as an IBL.I probably asked already.. but .. Landrace Durban Poison.. is there such a thing? the site description of this strain is "This is Durban Poison Highland, a local regular variety from KwaZulu-Natal South Africa in Durban".I maintain what is incorrectly called Durban Poison.
