Watering?

On girls Flowering 5 gallon Fabric Pot, under 700W LED Light.

About every 3 days they are taking about a gallon of water per plant my Son says I always Over Water that is why I have bugs.

He uses about half a gallon of water. Don't check PH or get run off. I've had other Growers say his plants look dry and bad.

Yes I did Over Water couple times. Once just starting and once I wasn't checking how dry they were and took a week to dry but I didn't have a problem with Bugs.

I know keep going like I am but I still have to put up with him.

Oh I feed GH every third watering he never feeds. Yes I'm trying to get a Fertilizer for Girls, Garden and Flowers so I have 3 different types of Fertilizer. He never feeds and he let's me know.

Using Happy Frog. So is he gets from me.

I offered him Fiber Pots but he don't like them and uses whatever because they don't have holes.

Can't really do this I need two Arms for some things.

He says I'm Over Watering because I let water drain then clean up the excess.

I got some of his other plants. Without thinking I'm waiting for them to drain but they just fill with water because he don't like Drainage.

Had another Grower I was showing them stuff. Then he tells them they don't need exhaust fan or even a Tent.

You can have his help with YOUR grow and not have to take his advice. Same story, different subject. If your plants are making it to the finish line and you are happy with them, then just ignore him and do your thing. Have him help and just ignore his advice.

That said, I don't think you really want to be watering to runoff in your soil. At that point, you are just washing nutes out the soil.

I really always thought you wanted to water until run off. So not water so much.

Truth not wanting him to get mad at me and refuse to help me with anything. I told him we needed the Buds to Bulk up and told me I was letting them go to long not to ask him.

Either back hand your son for being so damn sensitive or challenge him to a grow off and see who's method works out for the best.

It’s difficult to over water in fabric pots due to the easy drainage, unless you’re watering too often. The roots like oxygen just as much as they like water.
why’s your son always giving you shit? Lol
I concur on the grow off challenge. Have him put up or shut up. Then we’ll see who’ll be taking who’s advice. :bigjoint: :peace:

it's possible you're both watering adequately..

you're in fabric, he's not. Yours should dry faster than his which can explain you watering more than him and more often

that being said you have mentioned issues with gnats more than a few times so..

I say anything about Bugs and he immediately. Thinks I'm talking about Marijuana.

I had White Flies in my Tomatoes. Showed him them.

I thought you said Bugs them are small. Finding Basil runs them off.

He got mad at me on the first ones because he pulled every Leaf off and told me I didn't have to have a Tent. They vedged for 6 months and I cut them. Didn't think of it but I could have cut them back and revenge.

I have never seen his but another Grower said they seen his and they look sad.

New playing field we have the same water. He is staying in our Apartment.

We haven't let them go long enough because he cuts early. Get a nice high but no weight.

I know he left his for a week and half with nothing. He said they was just fine. Mine 4 days and their wilted down.

Bugs aren't from overwatering they either are from a non-sealed grow setup or contaminated soil where eggs were laid and when you water it zoom zoom they come flying. I hate Fox Farms with a passion because I used to battle fungus gnats for about a year then I switched to coco and barely ever see them now.

Might sound crazy but I run a sterile coco grow. 15 gallon pots of coco, General Hydroponics MaxiGro/MaxiBloom (all you need, no other bottles or nutes for big happy plants). 6.0 pH start to finish for me personally, some guys run 5.8 in coco but I think it is too risky with my larger size pots cause I'm watering 2.5 gallons per/day in 4 spaced out intervals each day using 8 0.3 gph Netafim Drippers per 15 gal pot.

My coco for the most part is always saturated with nutrient solution, I feed normal strength through veg with dimmed lights, then move to flower full power nutrients and lights, I get roughly 5% runoff 4x a day with fresh 2.0 EC 6.0 MaxiBloom solution. Once a week its good to either feed them with very heavy runoff or just plain water light runoff to balance out nutrients/salts/ph.

80 °F / 60% RH / ~1200 PPM Co2 / ~1200 PPFD (GC 720w LEDs)

Btw for cheap pH up look up Arm & Hammer DCAD+ you can make enough pH up for millions of gallons with one 50 lb bag.
