Burmese pythons are being spotted farther and farther north in Florida and could reach other states, experts warn. 'It really does feel like an alien invasion,' one scientist said.
It only took Burmese pythons a few decades to wipe out wildlife populations in the Florida Everglades. The same could happen in northern states.

Do you guys all have meters that allow you to access the cheaper electric?
Here, we have to have a special "night rate" meter, that you pay extra for, and then it recognizes the off peak times, and then you can set up your electric water heater to come on at night only, for example. Or they have electric thermal storage units for heat that also operate at night, But here you only get the break if you have that special meter. Maybe Cali is different.
I should have gotten one long ago as I usually run my lights at night.

There are time of use plans that a person can choose what hours of the evening are the peak rates, I have TOU D which puts the hours from 5 to 8 weekdays with regular rates all weekend. The meters are electronically connected to the power company so they don't have to come read them anymore. I set my lights to go off at 4:30 for that reason.

We had a contender, the sheriff's chopper was orbiting overhead and instructing us to stay in our houses. Apparently the guy who vandalized my car got arrested for fucking with someone else. Based on the stories it appeared he also had guns. The restraining order we had expressly forbade those, oopsie and enjoy the hospitality of LA County.
