"To be truthful, not neutral" there is a difference and lies spoken in the same breath as the truth is not journalism.

It is not the job of the journalist to report on both sides on whether it is raining outside, but to open the window, stick their fucking head out and find out for themselves! These assholes need to work for their money and not make up a horse race or report on trivialities or allow themselves to be repeatedly manipulated by psycho politicians and political operatives. Matt Gaetz or Trump spewing lies and attacking other people is not political news, they are obvious lies, if it's a lie, why repeat it and amplify it?

The choice in Texas is obvious and stark this coming election, people voted for Paxton twice, even though his corruption and unfitness were well known. To vote for such people is not just to vote for corruption, but something much worse and we see that in the news daily. Is it the government who is corrupt, or the people who knowingly vote for such miscreants and such a disgusting cause, what cause is that exactly? What "principles" and values do they stand for, being good "Christians", who also vote for Trump.

As far as I can see they are against fundamental Christain values, the US constitution, democracy and the rule of law. Am I missing anything?

Former President Donald Trump in a new interview said he did not respect his campaign and White House lawyers who told him in 2020 that he had lost the election.

In an interview with “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker that aired Sunday, Trump was asked about why he ignored his lawyers’ advice following the election and instead pushed the false claim that it was stolen, chalking it up to a combination of outside advice and his own instincts. Trump is facing criminal charges in Washington, D.C., and Georgia over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Asked why he ignored White House and campaign lawyers who told him he’d lost, Trump said it was because “I didn’t respect them.”
“You hire them, you never met these people, you get a recommendation, they turn out to be RINOs or they turn out to be not so good,” Trump said, deriding some of his own staff as “Republicans in Name Only.”

“In many cases I didn’t respect them,” he continued. “But I did respect others, I respected many others that said the election was rigged.”
Welker noted that Trump had previously said some of his outside attorneys had crazy theories about the election.
“You know who I listen to? Myself. I saw what happened. I watched that election, and I thought that election was over at 10 o’clock in the evening,” Trump said.
“I was listening to different people, and when I added it all up, the election was rigged,” he added.

Asked if ultimately he was the one calling the shots, Trump replied: “As to whether or not I believed it was rigged? Oh sure, it was my decision. But I listened to some people. Some people said that.”
Trump’s repeated false claims that the 2020 election was stolen and rigged and his subsequent efforts to overturn the results and remain in power are at the center of federal charges against him in Washington, D.C.

Prosecutors in that case cited in their indictment how Trump was told repeatedly by lawyers and other administration officials that he had lost the election.

The Fulton County, Ga., district attorney also indicted Trump and several co-conspirators last month specifically over their attempts to overturn the state’s 2020 election results in Trump’s favor.

Trump’s comments that ultimately he was the one who decided to pursue the theory that the election was stolen could undermine an argument in court that he was merely acting on the advice of his lawyers.

I didn't respect the guy who told me robbing the bank was obviously illegal, so I CHOSE not to believe him and robbed the bank anyway. How can I be guilty of robbing the bank? :lol: This guy says he wants to take the stand in his defense, eh? It wouldn't be the court trying to put him in a strait jacket with a ball gag in his gob, it will be his lawyers!:lol:

I thought one of Trump's defenses is he was just following the advice of his lawyers?

Former President Donald Trump said in a new interview that he doesn’t believe the United States has much of a democracy right now, complaining about the media and his own indictments.

In an interview that aired Sunday with “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker, Trump said he believes democracy is the most effective form of government.

“But it has to be a democracy that’s fair. This democracy is — I don’t consider us to have much of a democracy right now,” Trump said.
“They indict their political opponents. Free speech is shot, because the press is very dishonest, very dishonest. Even the way you fight me on simple questions like, you know, the border, and this. You fight me so much,” Trump told Welker.

“We need a media that’s free and fair. And frankly, if they don’t have that, it’s very, very hard to straighten out our country,” he added.
Trump repeatedly drew criticism during his time in office from lawmakers, watchdogs and some of his former administration officials for disregarding democratic norms, and some critics have warned that another Trump term could threaten democracy.

Trump ignored precedent to keep the Justice Department independent by frequently weighing in about ongoing investigations and attacking his attorney general.
He also sparred publicly with members of his own party and demeaned the press as “fake news” and the enemy of the people, and he attempted to remain in power after he lost the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden.

Trump was indicted on federal charges for his attempts to remain in power and for his retention of classified documents after leaving the White House. He is also facing charges in Georgia over his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results there, and in New York for an alleged hush money scheme to cover up an affair.

Still, Trump is currently the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024, leading his rivals by wide margins in national and state-level primary polls.

Asked by Welker if he would look to amass more power if he wins the election next year, Trump downplayed the idea that he would look to fire government employees who were not loyal to him.

“No, I wouldn’t do that. I want great people, whether they’re Republican or Democrat. I want great people,” Trump said. “But I want people that love our country, not people that hate our country.”

See if she changes her form of address as Donald goes through the legal machine and is ground to bits. They won't give him a slap on the wrist while his coconspirators in Georgia and DC do hard time, he is one of a group, the kingpin. I figure before Donald sees a day of his first trial, the SCOTUS should disqualify him from the primary and general election by years end at the latest.

Maybe she will drop the president shit when he is a convict in the crowbar hotel. Her interview with him in orange coveralls after he's been in a cell for a few months would be an epic whine that should shatter glass for miles around. :lol:
