Inflation and Biden

A lot of trucks drive 55 and I like to get behind them. I don't like the obstruction, but at least drivers behind see the truck and know they'll have to pass.
Back in the 60s, it was a competition to see who could get the better milage, so we did all the tricks of starting slow, etc. In the SFV, the streets are laid out in a grid, and the lights were timed so you could keep driving without coming to a complete stop if you drove the speed limit.
Here, barring steep grades, the trucks go between 62 and 70. It is rare that a big Diesel does not pass me. Unfortunately, drafting that is close enough to redeem the difference is ticketable. It is also much more fatiguing than setting the cruise control to mañana and whiffling along.

It's weird to get worked up about other people's driving.

I tend to go the speed limit due to years of driving with drugs in the car. Better to avoid police interactions than get somewhere a few minutes faster.

However, it's pretty rare to see anyone pulled over ever around here, so go as fast as you want. I'm just happy if they stop at red lights.

Edit: not sure what this has to do with inflation...maybe the slow folks are fighting speed inflation.
We generate less price pressure at the pump.

This guy almost wrote a book about the multiple theories about multiple theories as to the meaning of money and how it can be accurately measured and which form works best, example Communism vs. Capitalism.
He focused on a supply side theory with data and spread sheets, and only at the end did he hit the nail on the head in my opinion.
The Human cause of inflation, just simple greed.
Check out the profit margins just for oil, and while you're at it, do all the major manufacturers and Wall St.
They all had the most profitable years in years since COVID hit, and your know what?
Next year will be even better because the prices are never going down to pre- pandemic prices.
That wouldn't be Capitalism, right?

I have argued that point for quite a while :)

You just have to look at profits to see why "omg why is everything more expensive"....because they are charging higher prices but not raising wages in conjunction. My view on inflation is that it only exists/is a problem in terms of currency values when money enters or exits a given economic system. Otherwise it's just a matter of who accumulates it.

That said, thought it was interesting as a means to explain some of the downstream effects of said greed. There are cost increases impacting prices. I also am also partial to anything that is critical of raising interest rates to deal with this specific case.

And now back to your regularly scheduled Bidenflation program.
So, can you explain to me how the president is responsible for inflation? Low intrest rates, high consumer demand, price gouging, are not really the presidents fault. Imo, it's more on the fed, the public, and greedy corporations. Is there something I'm missing here?

The one thing that you're missing, which actually is the trump card here, is the ignorance/stupidity of the average American voter, or rather your average American.

Do you know why their is such a disparity in wealth/income here in the USA?

It's simply because most Americans are stupid and those with half a brain make more money.

Simple, isn't it.
