Hey guys , so I have 4 plants In a 4x4 tent , all autos , with the water they need , Fan on and ALL vents open its 88% humidity apparently In the tent . Is this bad ? How can I fix this ? Should I somehow make a bigger opening in the top ? Thanks

Hey man I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure 80%rh is damned too high for flowering not sure if it really matters though? But I always keep my humidity levels anywhere in between 47% and 59% I also use a portable dehumidifier in the room it's in and if you can try open some windows my home is naturally a high humidity environment I also keep the tent front door open and I have a massive oscillating fan i set it on mode do it mimics a real outside breeze and its on the highest fan speed it really helped me control temps and humidity as I use a 600w hps the only problem is the extraction fan can't work as efficiently which means the carbon filter isn't 100% so smell is prominent fortunately for me it's not as bad as it seems although I am still playing with fire : / but only 1 month to go fingers crossed but it terms of control over temps and humidity its amazing.

Do you have an exhaust fan to pull the air out of the tent? And what is the humidity in the room the tent is in?

Haha that's awesome ! Thanks for the reply . I was afraid leaving the door open will let the light out the tent and hinder the growing more than anything?

The setup I watched and installed has the filter outside the tent with a duct blowing air in from the bottom and the ports on the top of the tent are open to let the hot air escape I suppose
That sounds like kind of an unusual setup. Normally for a tent that size you'd have an exhaust fan near the top, pulling or pushing air through a carbon filter, and passive intakes (i.e. open port holes) near the bottom.

Also, if the humidity in the room the tent is in is high to begin with, you need to address that first. Even in best-case scenario, the humidity in the tent is gonna be a bit higher than the humidity of the room.

That wont affect anything. I usually just use a tent so I can hang my lights and keep things waterproof on the floor. All my doors are open all the time.

88% sounds kinda high. Is that constant or right after watering and sometimes gets that high? Also have you checked your Hygrometer to make sure its reading correctly? I cant tell you how many Ive gotten that read 10-15% either higher or lower.

That fan needs to be pulling air out of the top. Leave the bottom vents open for air to passively enter. If you’re sucking in air and at 80%+ RH.. I wouldn’t exhaust into the room. It’s best to vent out a window.
Im dealing with the same situation.. but 80% has been the highest it’s gone. Without a dehumidifier the outside wet weather is really keeping me on edge. Added fans to blow into the tent with the door open. I rather get loose or smaller buds by the door than lose the whole plant to rot. IMG_7259.jpeg

You need a dehumidifier by the sounds of it. If you keep at 88% RH, you're just asking for mold/mildew ao id get a dehumidifier asap.
