You need to have a solid understanding of growing and how to keep a plant happy all the time. The better you treat it, the faster it'll grow. Duno why everyone has such a hard time with them.... most things to you hear about autos isn't true. I run an auto or 2 in my mom tent, or in vegging areas. Gives me a some fresh weed before the other grows come down. Sometimes I just experiment with them like making live hash or rosin, live bho etc. I don't think I'd grow a whole tent or room of autos but that's just me.

That’s decent tho. But I can imagine they’ve had time to find the right strain/same strain and up the plant count? I tend to run 6 at a time cause anything over that and it’s deemed to be dealing where I’m from
Yes, that was the private grow of a guy who works at a clonefactory so he basically had time and the opportunity to even pick specific plants of the strain he wanted. ;)

This was my 1st all auto grow. To be honest with you. @Budzbuddha showed me how to set the soil up before you plant your germinated beans in their 3 or 5 gallon pots. This will set you up to (water only) for the 1st month. I run a 5 x 5 tent and have plenty of room for fans and moving around with 7 autos. This run was Forum Stompers and Mendocino Cosmo. I can't stress enough GET GOOD GENETICS. This run start to finish was 79 days.18.3 oz.

Thanks! And if you look him up @Budzbuddha he is so informative and generous with his knowledge. He has posted many different techniques on here. Personally I do all organic but he can show you different methods.

I suck at growing autos. Whoever said the grower doesn't make a difference with autos is crazy lol. It's all about the grower. Just to prove how bad I am at growing autos, here is a Fastbuds plant I grew. Perfect environment, soil, 1k hps, no idea wtf happened lol

Looks just like my gf, skinny but super cute! :D
Better luck next time #gowithphotos

btw: you're very good at keeping your plant from bending, at least something, no?

First go with Autos… Got some Northern Lights Autos from Seedsman Co. I’ve done a few photo period grows seed to sale but this is my first go at autos. I know the little one got left in a solo cup for a week or longer after the others were transplanted. And went on a vacation and it didn’t get watered.. I’ve heard transplant shocks them, I’ve heard they will force flower if you transplant… I late topped the bushy one and it seems to be just now starting to flower. Just gonna say photos seem to have more durability.. ‍
I still haven't found a scientific reason behind why this happens only that the problem either falls on the grower or the genetics.

I actually ran three seeds from that strain before and got great results, they were transplanted at the start of week 3 I believe and they're my biggest plants to date.

I keep looking at these lights, what model is that? QB4000? (currently checking out their site)

Prices seem to be very fair, not sure about the performance. Did you roughly measure your PPFD / w? would be really interesting.
Yeah, they are reasonably priced for their size and advertised performance. No, I don't currently own any PPFD measuring equipment.

If you know the PPF (manufacturer usually provide it) you could use the photone app and calibrate it to your lights.
Not sure how accurate it really is but Shane from Migro I think once tested it after calibration it was actually pretty close to a Quantum Par meter.
I think the "PPFD meter" app is also not far behind AND you can do par maps with it!

looks like this:

Honestly, in my limited experience, autos do much better indoors. They benefit from more light than nature gives in most places.

I guess the opinions vary...

Climate is surely a factor also. I live in the cold, wet northeastern US, not ideal auto envi, at least if the goal is a good crop.

2.1lbs in 90 days from sprout in a 4x4 doable with photos?

They only use less electricity if you don’t have to heat the 12hr night cycle. In the cooler months if I grew photos the night time temps would be in the 50-60’s even with a 2kw space heater.

So it is indeed cheaper for me to run autos using one 600w light 20/4
That's one reason I'm trying autos again, a cool room in the winter. Instead of using electricity make heat, I use it to make heat and light. It was also easier to maintain a more stable enviroment with my setup.

Just make sure you get some decent genetics to start with!

Yea the radiant heat helps a lot. Main reason I’m sticking with HID lighting

Yeah same bud without the heat especially in winter we screwed i might get a wee led to go along side my 600 at somepoint but i dont think il make a total switch anytime soon cos as u say u gotta heat it in lights off otherwise
