Weren't most of the largest historical diamonds of the world sourced in and passed thru the Mughal/Indian empires?
I saw some of Sheikh Al-Thani's pieces that had been restyled and reset by Cartier back in the early 20th century that were magnificent.

24k actually. They get REALLY UPSET when they come in to get their gold tested and it tests out as less than pure gold. I'm not going to pretend I understand, but there is a cultural significance to the gold being pure. I'm never more anxious than in moments like these. They get really pissed.

Yeah, they think of it as actual wealth, here it's more of a symbol of wealth. I bet they hate lab diamonds too.

Cinnabar? Hella cool name. That is a name i haven’t heard in a minute. Mercury ore. I’m from Almaden, san jose ca and that’s what we were known for. I lived right up the street from cinnabar elementary.
Was wondering if you’re good at working with platinum making jewelry. Don’t ask me how i know that it is one of the highest melting point metals.

Yes. I have a love-hate relationship with it. I would not cast it myself. I think it's incredible setting metal, awful for just about everything else.
