looking for a light mover

hey rui peeps. im in the market for a light mover, but im also poor, which is a problem. i have a 5x9 gorilla tent, i want to put a light mover in it and replace my leds with a hps, i cant afford 2 bones for it. anyone have one theyd be willing to trade?

its purpose is to move my light back and forth slowly ion the garden, spreading the light more evenly, and allowing me to utilise only one light rather than the 4 led's id need to cover the same space. it helps prevent hot spots as well. since im growing in a 4x8 tent, it would help me to hang just 1 600 hps ( is what i like dont care for results I get fromk led) and get the coverage as if i had multiple lights.

What kind of LEDs are you using and whats the actual wattage they pull from the wall?

You won't like the results from a single 600w in a 4x8 space, even with a light mover. The lightmover won't increase bud production, it just spreads out the light usage over more space, so you get a higher quantity of smaller(possibly lower quality) buds.

You would probably get the best results from adding the 600w and keeping the LEDs you already have. A 4x8 space can easily take 2000w of HID.

i agree im actually going to be running a 1000, ive tried hlg, amare, few others, not saying anything bad about em, they all had their benefits. i just prefer the buds under the hps
im trying my hand at a sog method this time, so i want to be able to keep the flower tent under 1 light,
using it for that, not to attempt to increase yield, other than i will be able to have the 1 light covering the room a little more efficiently

im actually curious now damnit.... brb lol

the amare led isnt at my location but i copied the info from ther emails, maybe it has th erelevant information on the light your asking but im not sure:

i used the bar in its spread configuration , used 3 of the hlg side by side,
then ran the amare in one half of the tent closed in tight, and the 1K hps in other half.
i ran a clone from the same plant under each light with one being inbetween the hps and the led. the plant in the middle was lopsided with the hps side producing tighter denser larger buds than the half that wa predominantly under the led, all fed same nutes on same schedule cloned from same mom on same day.
im not saying one is better than the other. im just saying that in my personal environment i prefer hps. i use the one of the leds for my veg tent so ione isnt wasted, and i have plans on setting up another small growq in another location this upcoming year and will use them there.

Well it all comes down to the environment honestly. LED takes some adjustments to get good results from everything i"ve seen. So if HID works better for you then more power to you. I just wanted to point out that Its very possible that the light mover might not really do as much as you expected. especcialy with only a 600w. Personally I've always used a 1k HPS for a 4x4ish space and I'd be hesitant to use any less.

Are those the specs above for the Amare 8 bar light? I have been interested in that one since it came out.

Free to cheap 1/2 HP garage door openers off craigslist or marketplace can make for a good poor mans light rail mover. Suppose you have more time than money to tinker around.. Use the same laser sensor at the end of the track to signal it to return each time. With a few modifications, you could shorten the track up a few feet, and reduce links in the chain. Put a speed controller on it, etc.. Lots of power to move huge blockbuster sized hoods, or whatever lights. ;)

yeah some of em, i can post the others if that info would be interesting toy uo bro? was a decent light, if i knew how to use it a little better that is lolol\

Those are the previous specs for the previous prototype we were testing before production. The Bar8 features a few unique designs, including our pat-pending form-factor that allows the bars to slide back and forth, detach and used separately in pairs (Bar2 configuration) for supplemental, side lighting, etc.. gotta say they were hella helpful , all thru the process and longh after they helped me dial it in and such.

Yep, that's the unit I was looking at for quite a while. I just didn't have the funds to upgrade. It seems like it should be an absolutely killer light. I had a 4x4 tray in a 5x5 space and I wanted to put the 4 main bars right over the top, and detach the other 4 and put them just a little lower around the edges to create a "dome" of light wrapping around the plants. I grew SOG for over 10 years and got good yields doing it, but I bet I could have pushed them even farther with bar style lighting for better coverage over the whole canopy.
