So I’d like to start a grow tent in my basement and would like advice on should I buy 2 5x5 tents or one 10x10. Is there any advantage to having two to three smaller tents as opposed to one big tent. I plan on using kindled X 750’s as lighting. I’m new at growing and have only done two outside grows and have had good success. I’m in the north east so during the winter, I’d like to grow indoors. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting question, first off you get twice the square footage in a 10x10 as opposed to two 5x5’s. While a 750 will work in a 5x5, you’ll need a bunch of them in a 10x10. With two tents you can have a veg tent and a flower tent. The best would be a 10x10 that is partitioned into two sections.

A 10x10 tent = four 5x5 tents. That requires a ton of lights.
I like having multiple tents; one for veg, one for flower; a small spare just to fuck around with sometimes. If it happens to be an unfinished basement without a heating system, LED may not be your best winter option that doesn't involve also running space heaters.

Get two 2x4’s and a 4x8. Start seedlings & transplant up to 1 gallon pots in the 2x4. When it’s time to go into a 3-5gal.. move them to the 4x8 to veg out & flower while you start new ones in the 2x4.
Use the second 2x4 to hang dry in. Best space saving method I use is hang 3 sections of trellis netting. You can get a 5x15ft net to cut in sections online for $7. Gives you plenty to hang on.

They have 5x10s too. With 2 of those you would only need 2 extraction fans, and have many other benefits that you wouldn't with multiple smaller tents. Then again, there are many pros to having multiple tents too.
With the big 10x10, you would have room for all the equipment to go inside (dehuey, etc), and can even put another smaller tent inside that one for veg, and to help keep the whole tent warm 24/7... Just one big tent with one environment to deal with instead of multiple ones, and needing to buy all the extra equipment and trying to dial each one in. I would probably just build a room before I got anything bigger than the 5x10s though. Or just use the basement as is, but dress it up better or add a few temp walls or something. Something about huge 10x10 and bigger tents seems ridiculous to me, lol. For the price of some of them you can start framing solid insulated rooms that size..

But of course that means multiple extractors and filters.
But it's easier to deal with multiple tents, should you have infestation or herm issue..
Stay away from kind leds.
They've been over charging and using bullshit baffles sales tactics for years.
There's far better more trustworthy companies to choose from.
I'd probably go with dedicated seedling area and drying areas.
Then a couple of 4x4s which I transplant into to see through veg and flower. Staggering them.
For example. 5 week veg, 10 week flower is 15 week , divided by number of tents.. so 2 tents, crop every 7 week, 3 tents would be every 5 week..
Plan.. plan.. plan.. don't overlook working space, been able to access each tent..
Been cramped gets old quick

the best advice i can give you is the sun has UVA/UVB. indoor grow lights usually dont have this and if they do they usually only have UVA. DR.bruce bugbee from apogee said in a youtube video i watched that UVA alone does make the plant produce more cannabinoid's.
here is something that a book im reading says:
"UV light is divided into three bands—UVA, UVB, and UVC. UVB is critical to the development of THC. The potency of cannabis is dependent on the amount of UVB light it receives".

Thank you so much for responding. Everyone has been great here. I think what I might do is go with two 5x5’s. I already have a dedicated drying room with fans, humidifier, dehumidifier and an AC unit. I’ve been drying at 60 degrees and 60% humidity for at least 12 days. I honestly don’t mind spending the extra money for two tents and everything needed. I want to do this the correct way. I was thinking of going with the kindled X750’s because the have the dial where you can veg and flower, but another member here said there are better options out there. Any advice on lighting would be great. As I said, I’d rather spend now and get the right equipment. My basement has heat in it, so that’s not a problem. Again thank you to everyone who responded, it really helps to listen to people who have experience.
Hello, thank you for responding. I was choosing the kindled because they have the dial so you can veg and flower with the same light. I’m new to all of this, so any recommendations on better lighting would be greatly appreciated. I asked someone who already had the kindled X750’s and they said it was an amazing light to grow with.

Get an idea of what others use and see real world examples.
Kind are just gimmicks . Sometimes spending more money doesn't mean getting a better light, infact the whole cannabis industry is much like that. Lots of marketing nonsense.

If you are using one as veg tent and one as flower is the only reason. Perpeutal harvest is where its at. If you want to just grow a bunch at once a big tent.
