About 2 hours in the Lowes trip and then working in the garage and I have the dust separator cyclone thing setup and working. Used it to clean up the mess I made getting it assembled and it separated everything before it got to the shop vac, also gives me a 'total' of 8 gallons of collection if I let the 5 gal bucket fill and overflow, in reality it'll probably never get beyond 3 or so gallons before I empty it. In theory, I shouldn't ever need to buy a filter or bag again for it, this should make next months drywall project much cleaner.

It's a poor person's dust collector / separator for power tools. I can hook it up to my job site table saw, my router table, my angle grinder, even my hand held sander and it collects most the dust from the work the tools do. I've been using my little 3gallon briefcase shopvac and going through the bags about 1 every two weeks at $10 a piece. This collects pretty much everything in the 5 gallon bucket before it ever gets to the shop vac. It will save a small fortune in vacuum bags by collecting dust when I drywall 3 rooms next month.

In a real workshop, it'd be a 1000 CFM squirrel fan connected to a giant cyclonic separator that mine is a micro-version of, then a fine particulate filter and then be ducted around the shop to every tool.

Mines made to follow me around the house like a crippled droid on acid. At least until I build a cart for it.

Fun Monday pivot! Neighbour is a Raptors season ticket holder and he can't make tonights game (vs. Trailblazers), so taking my 10 y/o! Well, soon to be, his birthday is next week, so timing is funny. Haven't been to a game in about a year, so this'll be a fun Monday treat!
