New grower. 2nd grow. Jack herer auto

3 40w led lights
3 5w side lights
Mylar lined room
Humidifier
Airmega air filter
Tomato cage
Chopsticks
FFOF soil
Charcoal
Perlite
Tap water measuring at 7.5 added lemon juice reading 6.416993137465327933086845329074568.jpg

Ordered a temp and hum reader from Amazon.


Oct 18 start germ
Oct 22 in dirt about 2inches long
Oct 24 emerged out of dirt 2 leaves
Nov 4 has 4 leaves plus the little round ones

Anyone following or reading please feel free to post helpful information. Constructive criticism is good but if your gonna tell me to through all my gear away and buy new you can keep it to yourself. I already knowy ahit is not top of line hence Science Experiment 3000. Let's see what I can produce with what I have. Upgrades will come if I can be successful.

Thanks again growers. Having a good time learning and looking forward to any help you all can give.

Moved jack to the bottom away from the light. Was told they don't need as much light. Getting concerned as it isn't growing. Looks healthy but no growth.

Oct 24 it popped up with 2 leaves. It is now 16 days old. Is this looking normal?

Keep trying with this seedling or start a new one?

Autos suck… I have 3 autos going with my photo periods. I had one dwarf like this on me too. I’m seeing it all the way to the end but the dwarf plant looks like it’ll fill a backwood lol. Stick to the photo periods!

Can't do photos right now so to my lights. When I upgrade I will switch over. Until then autos baby. Ok. Gonna stick it out and hope for the best. 3 weeks in and not looking good. Gonna dry it out and water it again on Monday unless I see some growth before then.

Why does your lighting decide which type of seeds you grow? If anything, I'd think photos would be better for sub-par lighting, since you all the time in the world to get them to where you want them to be. I wish I would have made the switch from auto to photo sooner than I did. I don't think autos are nearly as beginner-friendly as some make them out to be. Every little mistake costs yield when you're fighting the clock.

I'm pretty up-and-down with getting seedlings going, but that shot glass every few days watering method seems like very bad advice. If that's how you've been doing it, I suspect it's stunted from chronic under watering. With an auto that size, that many days in, I personally wouldn't bother with it if I had more seeds on hand.

Gonna give it till Monday. Nothing happens starting a new seed. Fuck it.

Because my lights are cheap as fuck and I can't attach them to a timer because they won't turn back on without manually turning them back on. So an auto I am running them 24 hours a day no need for a timer. When I upgrade I have a timer already.

Even if you can't be there to flip some switches twice a day right now, I'd still make the switch ASAFP. Veg some photo seeds out under 24/7 lighting until your upgrade arrives. Give you plenty of time to put the low wattage setup to it's most effective use - vegging. Hopefully you'll have little bushes ready to flip when the new lights get there.

Everyone is trying to get me to get rid of my science project 3000. I have a few more auto seeds. I am going to stick with it. See what I can produce. I can't have a 200+ wattage light anyways. Right now with my junk lights I am pushing about 130 watts. It's close to my max. With the mylar lined walls I think without testing the light that I have plenty of light power. I will upgrade to a new light once I am done with all the auto seeds I have. No sense in throwing out seeds. Grow what I have.

Help me get the most out of what I have currently. Any help with what I have would be great.

There's a pretty direct relationship between wattage and yield. The more floor space you're trying to light, the more wattage you need. If only 200 watts would be too much, then I think you'd probably get the best results by doing just 1 plant at a time. I have a feeling that concentrating the light over a single plant would give the best quality product.

Exactly. That is all the space I have. I am doing one plant at a time.
This is purely for personal use and entertainment. Funny thing is I don't even partake in weed. I just enjoy growing it. I want to see huge compact buds. Love the smell. Wife gets to be my taste tester. She enjoys the fruits of my.labor.

Autos don't leave a lot of time to fix anything, so getting seedlings right is pretty crucial. I'm not great with them, but here's my current batch of young plants.

7 days above soil:

Starting in those 4" pots, I fully saturated them til runoff every 2 days or so, when they feel noticeably light. If you're only pouring an ounce in every few days, you're not saturating very much soil, which doesn't encourage the roots to spread out. Small root system, small plant.
