Auto flower, MH or HPS?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row.

Ive been using HID lights for years, I enjoy working with them. This will be my first auto grow. I have both 600 and 1000w bulbs in MH and HPS.
However I getting conflicting advice. Some guys say I should switch to 1000w HPS for the entire flower stage. Others say no, I should stay with 1000w MH for the entire grow cycle, since they're autos and it makes no difference.

Opinions?

MH Will veg better/faster than HPS.

HPS will yield more than MH in flower (after stretch switch)

In my experience although the MH produces less weight the smell/potency was better than HPS. And tbh it’s only about 20% less

You're talking about autos, right?

Autoflowers respond to different colors of light in much the same way that other plants do and very much the same way other cannabis hybrids do.

If you're used to growing with veg and flower lights, go with what you know. Veg lights produce plants that are short and leafy and have low internodal space. HPS, on the other hand, produces taller plants and will give a higher yield when used in flower. One factor is that HPS is red heavy but another factor is that cannabis yield is reduced when the percentage of blue photons exceeds 4% (per Bugbee) when the plant is in flower. The red photons from an HPS give the plant its height but they also have very little blue in the spectrum.

The best thing to do to maximize crop yield and crop quality is to get your plants to the light saturation point which is 800-1000µmols for cannabis. Per Bugbee, the color of light drives plant shape, the amount of light drives growth.

My grow? I voted with my wallet. I use LED's but have a veg light for seedling and veg and then switch to a flower light. It works out very nicely.
