well , i just wanted to share my experence, as it relates to my public water supply . My water has a ph of 8.0 , which obviously is too high so i went and bought api's 4 oz bottle of ph down and have today given up on trying to adjust it . I started with 3 gallons of tap water 1 week ago and started with a drop or 2, as 1 tablespoon is supposed to correct 25 gal. It didnot phase it . As of this morning ive used a little over half a bottle on the same 3 gallons using a fish tank bubbler . The results are the same as previous days , id ph it before bed and check it after work and the shit would be right back , so i gave up . Now i use distilled which has a ph of 6.0 . So my question is,can i use this water without haveing to ph it ???

try 3 or 4caps of lemmon juice to bring your ph down. about 1cap full a gallon what type ph test are you using?

I have had the same problem. I read the back of the pH down and it said that hard tap waters may not change pH so you might have to get a water softener or try with distilled or reverse osmosis water (my tap water pH was 8.0 too). If you try to adjust the distilled water it will easily, but 6.0 is a pretty good pH to water with.

my ph runs 7.2-8 I have very good well water but mid to late summer when all the farmers are done with ferts. it hits around 8 it's been coming downlast watering it was 7.6 justunder a capof lemmon juice brought it down to 6.5

Yea i tried white viniger but after 10-12 tablespoons and no luck at keeping the ph down i was worried that it would do more harm than good , and bought the ph down , like that worked better , will that distilled 6.0 water work ok in ffoc soil
