AC Infinity S44 ionboard

Does anyone run the AC infinity ionboard s44 , I just purchased it and was looking for some info on what would be the best settings for my tent and how to keep the temperature from being to hot with only having a Tent size : 3x3x6 and a 6 inch Inline Ac infinity fan with carbon filter .

Not trying to be rude but how is the owners manual gonna give me any info other than there standard recommendations. Looking for someone that may have used one or is currently / knowledgeable about it . The owner’s manual don’t really do much there . But thanks

I run the S33 in my 3x3 tent. Heat is not really an issue. I wish it would generate more, though I’m in a cool basement. I have a small oil heater to compensate. I also do not run the light at 100%. It’s pretty powerful. Are you sure you don’t have the 33? That’s the one made for the 3x3, though it’s small enough that I imagine the 44 will fit.

Yeah definitely got the s44 lol it almost definitely takes up the whole 3x3 but still has plenty of room to play around the sides , it’s on 40% at 18-20 inches above the canopy . I just can seem to get the temp to stay around mid 70s , it wants to hold out at like 79 81 degrees . I am in south Flordia but also it’s inside a cooled house .

There's nothing wrong with low 80s for temps under LED.

Unless there's something very unusual about your tent, the manufacturer's recommendations are a good place to start. If you've got reasons not to use those guidelines, which I completely understand, that's fine but, lacking knowledge about grow lighting, you might stick with what AC Infinity recommends. Mind you, I haven't sanity checked their recommendations so I don't know if they're on point or not.

Re. experience with the light - that might be helpful but it's just a board light, so knowledge about grow lights in general pertains to this light, and it's got some unusual character characteristics that simple ownership of the light doesn't allow an owner to understand. On the latter point, the AC Infinity board lights have the same characteristics of large board style lights - a hot spot in the middle//signficant roll off toward the edges. Check the PPFD map and you'll see the issue. I haven't seen a third party PPFD map and the detail that AC Infinity provides is unusually vague so we really don't know how quickly the light falls off.

For some reason, I have taken an interest in light, perhaps that's because light is so important to cannabis plants and I've spent hundreds of hours reading a wide variety of resources, watching videos, etc. about grow lighting and grow lights. My advice is for growers learn at least the basics about grow lights and lighting, get a meter (PAR or light - I have an Apogee and a Uni-T), and get as much light on their plants as possible.

Seeing that the AC Infinity lights have the hot spot, you'll probably want arrange your plants so that there's nothing in the center and then try to LST and super crop to compensate for the "photon gradient", meaning high PPFD in the center and low on the outside.

Back to recommendations - the grow tent itself really doesn't matter that much. Cannabis will survive in light levels as low as 64µmols (the light compensation point) and the "light saturation point", which is commonly taken to be 800-1000µmols in a non-CO2-enhanced environment. Crop yield and quality increase in an almost liner manner to light increase so the sooner you get your plants to their light saturation point, the better off you'll be in terms of yield and quality. That number is grow dependent because all of the factors that make up the grow environment have to be good in order to support high light levels. I read a grow journal where the plants could not tolerate PPFD's over 500µmols. That was a huge warning sign and it turned out that the grower had allowed the soil at the bottom of the pot to dry out. Very no bueno.

Below are the light levels for my current grow. You can see that I'm a "high light" grower and that approach is based on published research from a handful of sources and it has worked out well.

Lol yeah bud I’m glad it took half your day with that response back , so let me clear a few things here I wasn’t insisting you wasn’t knowledgeable nor didn’t know about light an such on . But the short ( check the owners manual’s bs ) is why new growers like myself don’t even try to ask forms for help . Because we get some Einstein A-hole on here like so when all we are trying to do is become a better grower an get some hands on pointers . But thanks for yours again and have a nice day .

What I've provided is pretty useful information if you've got the time and the ability to grok it. A lot of folks don't want to understand "why", they just want to "make it go". No problem with either approach.

AC Infinity makes a lot of good products. Their lights are the weak point in their product line but they do have some good equipment. I use their fans, their Controller 69, and just got their small humidifier. Thanks to the Controller 69, I was able to retire > $300 of other hardware and drastically reduce the time needed to control tent "weather".

I have the AC infinity controller 69 and I am still trying to learn how to use the settings for humidity and temp and how to have the light running and have it all come together and the right levels. Any advice on a easy set up for the controller 69 / light combine , just to get it all set and going would be nice . Just trying to get it working together

Did you check the manual that comes with it?

You know I just had to say that! :-)

In all seriousness, the examples they give are pretty good so it's worth digging into the user guide to check. I've been a professional programmer for 30 years and it still helped a lot to read the manual.

If you're stumped, post away — I might be able to lend a hand.

BTW, my C69 fell off the network earlier today and I couldn't get it reconnected, no matter what I did. I called their tech support and they f'ed up…big time. According to AC Infinity, they pushed a software update this morning that has pooched connectivity and they won't have an update until the end of the week.

Is your C69 running/connected?

The C69 will maintain all of the settings but the issue is that you can't reach it with the app.

Thanks for the info , I think I may have mine right where I need to be for now everyone is saying low 80s are good . With mine it will kick on at 82 , but stays moving from 77 to 83 and the vpd is 0.8-1.2
