Is "great value 100% pure fancy molasses safe to use for plants??

I've always wondered why everyone insists on unsulphured molasses for horticulture. Sulfur is a micronutrient that the plant needs, as well as apparently helping with terpene production, so why avoid it in molasses?

Good point didn't know, I just was looking up on things to help and everything site or read said to only use unsulphured black strap. It has more of what you need than regular.

Very low ph? I believe opp is trying to feed the carbs to the micos in the soil.

That's what I've come to assume to be the reason any grower uses molasses; feeding sugar to soil biome. But my understanding is that, although fairly minuscule, molasses does have micronutrients the plant can also use. If sulphured molasses lowers pH, hell, that would be a bonus for some of us.
 
I don't know one way or the other whether molasses has any real value for growing weed, but that article did come off as far more an opinion piece than anything.

Because the form of sulfur used in molasses production (sulfur dioxide) is there to kill microbes and we're trying to feed the microbes.
 
I don't know one way or the other whether molasses has any real value for growing weed, but that article did come off as far more an opinion piece than anything.
I'm not a chemist so I don't know for sure either.. Just threw it out for debate..
edit: Sounds to me like junk food for microbes..
