My first bike was a 66? CB 450 Honda with a 750 tank on it.

My first road bike was a '76 Honda CB750 "Fours". Thing rode like a tank.

Gotta admit, the front tire does look remarkably like the Dunlop Touring Elite's I used on the GL - but would that get me to Ottawa five times and Montreal/Quebec City three times each?

At some point I had a 200cc Honda twin about that era. Rolled steel fenders lol.

How many miles did you end up getting out of your GL? Mine had 72k when I sold it. Timing belts had been done at 65k so she still purred. That bike was kind of a steal for $1300.

It's a 1500 with Vance & Hines pipes, Metzeler tires and Mustang seat. My brother has a street glide that wasn't as loud, so he installed a 600 Watt amplifier with 6x9s in the saddle bags - showed me! No radio on mine.

At 16 I rode a Honda moped 50cc to go see my girlfriend. Still had it at 19 - cool to strap a case of Molson on the back rack. Shortly thereafter, I got a CB360 that took me places further from home - Niagara Falls and Toronto come to mind. Carefree times.

Bought it for $2,000 in 1985 with 1,600 km in the odometer. I sold it in 2003 with 124,000 km (~76,000 miles.)

I did the timing belts, steering head bearings, brakes and cleaned the Kiehin carb throats on a weekly basis. It still ran great on the afternoon I watched her and her buyer disappear around the corner.

Nice. PO had done steering head at the same time as timing belts. Only thing wrong with it when I sold was a stupid anti-dive mechanism failing, so there was a constant irritating rattling noise. I needed a car pretty badly, so I had to let the GL go. Then bought me a stinkin' Lincoln.

I also started out on a Honda 50. Wanna say I got it in '83, when I was 6. Pretty sure I could ride a dirtbike before an actual bike. Mine looked a lot like this, but red.

I have a 1999 Z50 (white). The last year with solid rims. It has less than 20hrs on it.

My last dirtbike was an old-ass Suzuki DR500 I got in the early 90s. Probably about the best $50 I ever spent on a toy.

You can go about 40km @ 45kph unassisted. No idea what the range is if you pedal.

Mine only does 32kph but has about 70km range if you peddle most of the time. It's a great, quiet way to see the country side. A bright red flasher on the back is essential, as is a helmet.

Montreal Return = 1040 km
Quebec City Return = 1544 km

Memo to me - do not make any of those trips on an eBike.
