It should refer to the inside diameter of the pipe, seems like when dealing with pipe it usually runs large. A 3/4 pipe should be a little less than 7/8 I.D. and around 1 and 1/16 O.D. Is that what you have?

Id is a full inch. It's a mismanufactured part is my guess. I'll just get the adapters needed to make it work.

It's what we in the manufacturing industry refer to as cheap chinese crap. That appears close to 1.25 tubing with a .187 wall, close but not, refer back to first sentence.

Ime I've seen some high quality come back, but only if your example piece is perfect......otherwise, there is a lot of junk that comes from China

How does this stuff screw together? Does it have pipe threads or compression fittings? or does it just glue together?

Before I just bought the distribution manifolds which are threaded and made a riser from pipe with a threaded adapter that the manifolds screwed onto.

So the threaded parts are probably IPS threads [straight pipe].

That is for 3/4" pvc pipe. I had the same issue. I bought a 3/4 to 1/2" reducer. It's worded weird on the website and sounded like they labeled them by the od of the pipe going into them. So I built the pvc pieces with 1/2" pvc and then got the surprise that you got.
