What does it mean when I have white floaters growing on the top of my liquid culture ? Starting to think that the room is just heavily infested with various types of mold spores. We're gonna have to tear everything down and clean really good I guess. So confused things went so well for so long. And now I can't get a single tub to work.

this little bit is floating on the top of some hillbilly
LC. Pretty common once the jar gets pretty well colonized. If it’s all white i wouldn’t trip.

I have 4 pressure cookers, two hot plates. I get 4 cycles in every day. I’ve had 2 blowouts so far. Why it happened each time i still don’t know but when that little piece of black safety thing pops off and out the lid everything on the inside is toast. But thats the worst i’ve had so far.

Oh fuck dude. That sure looks like the trich my tubs were getting. Are you micro pore taping holes? Does this happen before or after taping holes? Looks like its getting fucked before that top layer(or is it a casing layer?) even started to get colonized. My shit was fucking me right as the top layer was colonized. And it was all the way down through the cake by the time i realized i was contaminated.

Imo, if the shit is still happening even after sterilizing the coir/verm substrate, it IS either your spawn or you got a bigtime spore load of trich everywhere in the house. Bag tek time imo.

here’s a knew one i’m messing around with. It’s Stakz.

a 269g mushroom lol. I don’t like it when shit gets that big. I’ll take an even pinset all day over big fuckers.
It colonizes so rapidly i end up with some overlay. I’m messing around with fork tek and adding some FAE slits in the bags(taped with micro pore tape) and messing around with a real casing layer. Peat/verm and hydrated lime. Growing in bags you gotta find the right cube varieties.
Yeah, bro, definitely bag Tek time and time to get a flow hood.

Yup just like that. Definitely bag tek and flow hood time. I think I'm going to empty the room out and deep clean everything.
But it seems unstoppable at this point Without A flow hood and completely sealed growing environment like bags.

Yeah the flow hood will make your life easy. You have the knowledge under your belt now it's just the environment working against you.

I bet there's so many contaminants in the air that things are landing on the surface of everything that I make contaminating it
Do you keep your tubs in a room or do you keep them in a tent inside a room? If it's feasible maybe a sealed tent with a HEPA can filter and ducting would help maintain good air quality for your tubs without having to manage a whole room. And of course using flow hood when working outside the sealed tent.

Yes I have Monotub's Stacked inside of a 4 by 8 grow Tent. It's inside a 10 by 10 room. I usually do.
Everything inside this room. The room does have carpet which I do vacuum a lot. But the carpet can't be good i'm sure it's holding tons of spores.

Get that glow hood bro.
Then you can safely do agar work. Grain to grain. Etc.
Except the bags closest, These are all G2G i would never ever try it without being in front of a flow hood

this message will self destruct in about 30min
I see you have some ducting and fans. I'm wondering if I need some air flow inside of there. Also I do have A8 inch carbon filter. I can run and exhaust outside. I just don't want it to pull stuff inside the tent.

Oh cool you have a nice setup going. And yeah if it's at all possible (assuming you don't rent) to remove the carpet than that would absolutely help you out tremendously and might be enough without flow hood considering you've been getting good results. It would be the cheapest option to explore if you are able to remove the carpet. If not another idea that came to mind would be using those plastic throw tarps that are clear. The stuff painters use and lay it down when you plan on working. Hopefully trapping those spores below the plastic where they can't get airborne as easily.

That is my old veg room and repurposed for the grain spawn room. Absolutely no air exchange going on in there.

I do have the door to the room shut with the space heater blowing
Yeah in there during these cold months it’s a space heater and an air purifier. Summer I use the AC.
The repurposed bloom room is different. I have a charcoal filter/fan on the ground set up to suck up and out the built up co2(on a co2 controller) and use the minisplits as a heater.

In the future, if you think the carpet may be a problem and you dont want to tear it up, there's carpet plastic that is sticky af we use in the trades. It would probably help keep mold spores from being trapped and would be easier to clean. I'll warm ya tho, that plastic will pull up the carpet sometimes when you go to pull it off lol.
