Neck and tmj issues... I've had sports injuries for over 20 years and my neck muscles became weak... Im doing this online FB group that you get rid of the trigger points with a massager and massage the SCM muscles and its helping. My posture has improved in front of my own eyes too. Tinnitus went from 12 non annoying days a month to almost 20. Home PT too helped.

Thanks I will look into it... I also got (minor) skin issues on my face after I got covid 2 years ago. I think what happened there was after I got tinnitus I only slept 3-4 hours a night for 4 years lowering my immune system.

The real question is what is your tinnitus from?
Standing under jet engines without good hearing protection did mine in. Permanent hearing loss of about 75% in one ear and slight loss in the other. I'm trying to get the VA to pay for hearing aids but they claim it hasn't been proven to help with tinnitus so they won't pay for them. I'm due for another hearing test next year so hopefully they'll change their minds.

I live in the house in which it started 16 years ago. I had moved in and didn't have much furniture so the living room had good acoustics for beating on a drum. I was playing one afternoon after work and stopped playing to grab a beer and noticed the ringing for the first time. its never gone away. As I type this in a very quiet living room its the main constant other than the click of the keyboard. TV and the radio are my friends both home and while I drive. Quiet places suck but for me loud places and conversation are the worst. My wife and I have to sit at the bar if we eat out so we can hear each other. If we are out with a group at a pub and its loud I pretty much nod and smile. If the person who is talking is on the far end of the table I only pick up bits and pieces of the conversation. I'm not afraid to let people know I'm hard of hearing but I'm tired of doing it. Rambling now, but to the ones who have shared here, thanks and know you aren't alone.

Tinnitus and other health issues got me believing that they don't want any cure for stuff bc then they can't make money. This world is something else. I first got my tinnitus and for the first 2 months I didn't have a tmj splint and I only slept for 50 hours.

It's bad at night when it's quiet for sure. I don't have a TV anymore as I got sick of paying for nothing on, but I do miss the background noise as a distraction from the constant high pitched ringing. I have tried a sound machine, accupuncture, meditation and lots of weed. After so many years of dealing with it, I've just come to accept it as part of life.

Get an indoor antenna... U would get probably 35 channels for free. Do you live in the city or country?

I can pickup the digital local channels but it's never worth watching in my opinion. I just play music or watch movies on YouTube for the distraction. I'm out in the boonies and Satellite TV and internet is our only choice. DirecTV was crazy expensive for what I was getting, over 200 bucks a month. I haven't missed much except for Australian Rules Football and Discovery Channel stuff. I do watch the Superbowl every year just because it's a tradition.

Yeah, long term exposure to high decibels can be a big cause. I know a few sound guys for rock concerts who have gotten tinnitus from decades of loud shows.

It's hard to stay focused when it's bad and I totally get you about being grumpy from it. When it's bad, I let my wife know so she understands I'm having extra trouble hearing and doesn't think I'm just ignoring her. It saves a lot of arguing.

I totally get your frustration with that tinnitus message board. It's essential to have a platform where you can freely share experiences and information that can help others dealing with the same issue.

my partner has tinnitus and his varies from a high pitched sound to a shhhhhh'ing like a white noise machine. the ONLY thing that makes it "go away" is the sound of crickets chirping; whether its in nature or a sound machine.
i've been noticing a slight ringing in my own ears in the past few months or so. really hoping it doesn't get worse...

Damn maybe I should start using hearing protection at the gun range!

I developed mine after a heart transplant. Something about the heart and lung bypass machine. My hearing wasnt the greatest to bigin with afyer 20 years of construction. Mine sounds like crickets chirping. I'm able to ignore it mostly, and it helps me fall asleep. I do have a hard time hearing with a lot of background noises. I think my wife just plans on saying things twice

It's disheartening when forums limit information sharing. Consider reaching out privately to the moderators, expressing your intention to share helpful insights, or consult a lawyer to understand your options.
