... Thousands of geese moving over this morning, must have lasted 15 minutes. They always seem to be arguing about where they are going, lots of noisy complaining going on ...
Annoying critters that never shut up - or travel in small flocks - I feel your pain!

Thankfully the lake has frozen over and they have buggered off for a few months. Otherwise it's 24 hours of that persistent squawking.

The security at our lake house tried using a special loud whistling flare gun to scare them off, they just flew across the lake to another beach. The goose poop got so bad in the common areas they finally issued hunting permits for them. It was a lottery and I was lucky enough to get a tag. You could taste the sweet sound of silence in every bite. We culled 300 plus in 2 weeks as a group but next spring they were back up to normal numbers. Not sure there's a fix for them.

Most of them head back north in the spring but there are a few flocks that are lazy and have taken up residency at some of the local lakes. They live in the flooded rice fields nearby and move from field to field. There are plenty of ducks and swans also. We are the winter destination of the Pacific Flyway.

We had them at the local golf course. The red fox population kept them in check. It was almost sad to see the mothers with their chicks slowly disappearing. First there would be a dozen or more, then 6 then 2 and then there were none.

I've heard some using inflatable gators around the perimeter of the ponds. The theory is the geese see the inflate-a-gator close to the shore and think they are lunch if they land there.
... That explains why I want to start golfing again!

Anyone else REALLY intrigued to see her putting stance?

Grace Charis is her name. She's trying to be the next Paige Spiranac.
Judging from the shall we say "exposure" she's getting she's just about there.
